If Axl quit GNR and Brian Johnson was announced as his replacement for the summer tour, would you keep your ticket?

Can't say for sure.

I might, because I do still like Brian.  But my interest and excitement for the show would absolutely plummet.

If I wanted to hear Guns N' Roses songs sung by guys that aren't Axl Rose, I'd have bought a ticket to see Slash over the past 10 years.  Which I never did, not one time.

Brian Johnson can't hold Axl's jock....songwriting or performing.

Just as Angus can't hold Slash's jock.....Guns can do anything AC/DC can...AC/DC can't do everything Guns does. Guns is WAY WAY WAY more diverse.

Unless things changed dramatically in recent times. Even if Axl quits GN'R Slash, Duff, etc can't use the name GN'R. Now just for the sake of argument let's say Slash, Duff, Izzy and Adler can use the name and they hire Brian. I will go to see them. After all lots of fans including myself have seen Slash and Duff with VR, Snakepit or Conspirators

As a huge AC/DC Fan im super excited about this, weirdly even more than the Guns N Rolex reunion.

That BBC interview is great. Axl cracks some great jokes, and a intelligent view on the music business.

True.

You'd have to cut all the ballads.  Somehow, don't see Brian doing much with 'November Rain' or 'Patience'.

From my experience NuGNR never really was a thing. The line up changes is a great example that people just wanted to see Axl, didn't matter who was in the band, even though every one had favourites. Most fans always dreamt about the original line up coming back. The musicians individually were great, but there was never a band feel.

I don't think ACDC would play theaters, but I don't really know how that could work. Changing the singer is a big thing. Does Angus has Axl's charisma to keep going at this point in his career? Queen had that American Idol guy singing, and from what I heard they had success with it, but Freddie is dead, so IMO there's a big chance ACDC could become a karaoke act if they decide to replace Brian permanently.

It isn't a karaoke act if Axl is involved (and that was a silly statement by one of my favorite singers ever in Roger Daltrey). Axl is a rocker at heart and an icon. He is a bigger name than Brian Johnson. It is not like Paul Rodgers doing Queen. When Ax brings his A game, he is better than Johnson and Bon Scott.

And I thought it was just me. I'm on the same boat as you are.

For the first time in our lives we're gonna see Axl doing something completly non-GN'R related. But I never thought it was gonna be this huge, you know.

Wishing all the best to the boys and Axl on these concerts. Break a leg (please don't)!

He's not. His recent comments lead to the possibility that he would be open to recording with AC/DC in the future.

Axl's bodyguard present again. I see him and I think of Hodor from Game of Thrones.

If people don't think of it as AC/DC but seeing two Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame Talents in Angus Young and Axl Rose performing together, they may enjoy themselves.

It's due to unfortunate circumstances that Brian Johnson cannot perform, but people are taking their frustration out on the wrong guy. Axl - who has done his own reputation no favors over the years, is being crucified for essentially doing his friend(Angus Young) a favor.

To me it looks like the band had two options - quit, or go on with someone else. While Axl may not be everyone's choice, it's just as much "karaoke" with anyone else. At least Axl is a brand name, has gotten media attention and may bring some people to the seats.

AC/DC did right by their fans in offering refunds for people who are not on board with Axl singing.

the muffled rehearsals on the cellphone sound pretty good, great even.

But behind the interviews, there was an audio from one song playing in the background. he didnt sound good there.

He'll probably be able to sing some songs better than others.
