Axl confirmed as new singer for AC/DC tour (June 1, 2016: US dates announced)

I am so damn pissed, lol my own fault, had tickets for AC/DC MSG, and about a week after it was cancelled they offered a refund, so I took it, obviously this was a few weeks before Axl was even mentioned, and now I'm kicking myself cause I really hope to be able to get them back!!! when they go back on sale!!!

There will probably be a resale once they announce U.S. shows are rescheduel. The thing is for how long Axl is going to be them

Sounds like he is very interested in going forward with them, but I think any future plans need to wait until they see how these shows go and the following months. Maybe they or Axl will feel differently then, one way or the other.

I mean GN'R shows. If Axl is busy because he is on tour with GN'R he can't be in two places at the same time

True. I'm guessing there's some sort of a time gap between tour dates after the stadium shows though that would allow those AC/DC shows to be worked in. The interesting part would be what happens after that.

Just read an article with the interview quotes on Yahoo. 

In an astounding turn of events, the comment section is actually glowing.

Gone are the usual "Fuck that guy.  Hope their fans like waiting 3 hours" or "I saw him in <insert year here> and he was terrible.  Save your money"...

...and replaced with "Wow, when did Axl Rose grow up?" and "He sounds great here."

I think he really has matured as a professional performer

Also, he probably is really getting a kick out of this. 

Also, for once, he isn't the boss, he can relax

Agree on all counts. Obviously he loves and respects AC/DC as a band, so he seems more than happy to take a backseat and just go along for the ride.

As for being more talkative. It stands to reason he'd be more willing to talk if he's in a better place personally. And let's be honest, he knows a thing or two about replacing key band members and what goes along with that. This whole thing could give him different perspectives across the board.

Eddie Trunk mentioned again on Twitter the other night that he "expects" (not sure if that was the exact word he used) to interview Axl soon. Not sure if they've had further discussions after Vegas or if he's just relating to that, but maybe Axl will be a little more open with the press now. He's certainly off to a good start.

Watching AC/DC fan forums as a GnR fan who has been here since the beginning of this board... having watched and participated in a variety of lineup, setlist, what if, and even riddle discussions is a surreal experience. It has to be a little odd for Axl to sit back and think this is what Robin or Tommy must have felt trying to fill Duff and Slash's shoes.

Very very interesting and fun time to be a fan of GnR and even a slightly more than casual fan of AC/DC.

I wonder if he has told Angus in a private moment that, ultimately, this will not work.  And who would know better?

Like with GNR, there will be a segment of "I support that band in whatever form.  I'm a good fan.  I'm noble and awesome and if you were a real fan, you'd be more like me" types.

But, also like with GNR, there be far, far more AC/DC fans that aren't onboard, some militantly so.

If Angus truly intends to continue on sans Brian, his days of arenas/stadiums are over.  And the "up close and personal" venues will be reality of the situation.

Working so closely with a well oiled rock n roll playing and touring machine like AC/DC can only be a positive experience for Axl.
From a professional and marketing standpoint, Axl could really learn a lot from AC/DC management.

Playing with Angus could be both a "muse" and a "career coach" situation.
In addition, perhaps playing with AC/DC will help remind Axl of his first love of raw, stripped down blues rock. He might miss the groove, beat, and swing of playing pure rock n roll, and it will help inspire him to write new GNR material.

In the long run, this will be a good learning experience for Axl. It will be both humbling and inspiring, fun and challenging.

But Brian didn't leave the band. He has said in a statement he hopes to get better soon and at least be able to work in the studio and make albums with AC/DC.

The official AC/DC statement was about as cold and clinical as it gets.  A stark contrast to Brian's, in term of emotion.

Mix in the chatter that Angus might have been looking to replace him even before this...then, you are entering into what Axl faced.  Wholesale changes he insisted on.
