How should Axl dress during the shows?

Maybe he'll wear some pink panties and a skirt.

WTH?Huh

Seriously, he's Axl Fucking Rose, he's going to wear whatever the hell he likes. Dude isn't going to compromise just because it's a different band. When he jammed with U2 did he put on some lame ass looking eye glasses? When he jammed with Bruce, did he wear a jean jacket?

No.

Don't under estimate Axl's "fashion sensibility." He has always been very deliberate and cognizant of his fashion and style choices. I think it is a legitimate question without undermining his "it's Axl Fuckin Rose" persona and anti-hero aura.
Make no mistake, as bad ass as Axl is, clothes and fashion and style have always been a key component of his on stage persona. I was just wondering whether or not fronting AC/DC would impact his choices.

This is a clearer version of Thunderstruck, Hell Ain't a Bad Place To Be, Back in Black, and Hells Bells.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=StAHpwfK1N8

I know the quality wont help but it sounds to me that he is putting much more effort in these songs than in GNRs...i mean...the way he is singin Thunderstruck, Perfect Crime would be piece of cake for him...

Yes, I was thinking the same thing-- from the few vocal snippets we have, it does sound as if he is pouring more into the AC/DC songs that his GNR material.
My theory, stated earlier today, is that Axl can "indulge the rasp and soul" because most AC/DC songs are in lower ranges/keys, and easier to sing. So it "only sounds" as if he is pouring more into the songs, but in reality, the easier AC/DC ranges allow for more vocal experimentation and flexibility with his rasp, scratch, screech, gravel, and growl. I think the simpler melodies allow him to vocally play around more with his growl and gravel and rasp and scratch.

Perfect Crime would be piece of cake for him...

What's the problem? We know that it will come. It was already listed, which means it has been rehearsed.

It was rehearsed in 2006 too and they never played it  hihi

I get what you're asking and I'm giving you my opinion. I doubt he's going to change up. Do you think Steven Tyler would not put scarfs on the microphone stand? Or Robert Plant would forego strutting around when he fronts his own band?

No, it's who they are.

I doubt it will impact his choice.

You actually make a good point that few have touched on. I've watched a lot of bar bands nail AC/DC and very, very few get GnR down. Hell, I can't sing worth a shit and I can probably hit one or two AC/DC songs, so I suspect a pro could go through an entire album without breaking a sweat.

There's no problem at all dude...what happens is that many people from this board claim this song would be very tough for him to sing nowadays...myself included!

Some 7,000 Belgian fans want their money back................

Read more at http://www.blabbermouth.net/news/7000-belgian-acdc-fans-request-ticket-refunds-on-concert-with-axl-rose/#ZEA0Wojfs7ZH3r57.99

An excerpt from the post (I highlighted some excellent points in bold):

Classic Rock magazine recently posted a story on its web site as to why Axl Rose is the "worst idea" to replace Johnson in AC/DC. Its sister publication, Metal Hammer, has since countered with why it is a "brilliant idea," and here are some of their reasons:

1) "Various singers from bands ranging from KROKUS to THE HIVES have thrown their hat in the ring, but all along, there was only one viable direction, and that was pulling in a high-profile singer who knows the material, who has the range and who's got the time."

2) "Anybody who's watched GUNS N' ROSES' version of 'Whole Lotta Rosie' on YouTube must grudgingly admit that he riotously delivers the punch and snarl of the original. There is no debate that Axl has the style and the range to handle the band's current set list."

3) "Say what you will about Axl, but he's possessed of high intelligence and his own keen survival instinct; he acutely understands that before him lies a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to elevate his stature among his fans and peers and to carve his name on the wall of the AC/DC legacy for all time. No way will Axl blow this..."

4) "Finally, think about the ticket holders. If you had a ticket to one of these shows and word comes down that the band have hired the guy from KROKUS to front them, are you going to go? But put Axl Rose and now you've got something to see."

************************************************

Now, any Philadelphia ticket-holding AC/DC fans pissed off that Axl is stepping in to help the band honor the postponed date, especially you front row ticket holders, don't whine, put your tickets up for sale, at face value, so true rock fans can witness THE VOICE in action along side Angus Young & Co.

All this rant is so unnecessary...I mean, if someone filled for Axl in GNR I would of course be disappointed, but I would never keep crying over the internet like a spoiled child...thats how ACDC fans look to me adter all of this...a bunch of spoiled brats...pay some respect to the guy for Gods sake!! If you dont agree, dont watch it!!

Yep, that is why you will rarely see a bar band pull off GNR.
Very few people can do justice to GNR songs. That is why Carrie Underwood, a real singer with some real multi-octave chops, has said that "Axl taught me how to sing." Real singers understand that GNR songs are vocally arduous tasks. Axl is a fucking vocal machine.
AC/DC on the other hand is more about the raspy growl and "fun" sing along rock melodies.
That is why many AC/DC fans refuse to see the similarity with Axl. They ignore Axl's gravel and rasp and only focus on his air horn range. They are not used to that kind of soaring range, therefore, in their minds it is only "cat screech" and not AC/DC kick ass rasp.

But you would still go, 100%?  I don't know what I'd do, in that spot.

If, god forbid, something happened to Axl between now and my show in July...and Slash told me not to worry and that he's get his buddy Myles who "knows the material"...my interest in the show would plummet.

Yeah exactly no way would people on here accept a different GnR singer in fact it would be a catastrophe if somebody else tried to fill in ,I can totally understand why Acdc fan's are pissed Axl is fronting their band,  it's not who they shelved out a fortune on tickets to hear,BJ was kicked to the curb along with a cold statement from the band (more to this than is been revealed)die hards would rather they called it quits than continue but contracts and money is the driving force behind it,I've no doubt Axl will do Acdc songs justice however if I wanna see Axl Rose I'll go see GnR.

I asked someone I know who loves AC/DC to come see AC/DC w/Axl Rose, and his response: "I wouldn't cross the street to see Axl Rose". I guess that means he's not interested in coming with me. So be it, his loss.

100% Agree.  We're all die hard GNR fans who think this is cool / probably want to see AC/DC MORE now that Axl is fronting.  If Axl pulled out of the GNR tour and they got another massive rock n roll legend to fill in I'd be pretty disappointed too.  I spent $500 for my VIP tickets to see GNR with Axl, not with ANYONE ELSE.

Agree. I would love to see Axl fronting ACDC, but their fans are pissed for a reason. Their lead singer was completely discarded. If it was someone else fronting GNR this board would crash in a second.

But since I'm not a die hard ACDC fan I think it's gonna be great and a once in a lifetime opportunity for us. Axl will have so much fun!

There is a difference between Axl stepping in for Brian as opposed to somebody filling in for Axl.

Axl is the only voice GN'R has ever had.

Many of the classic AC/DC songs were sung by Bon Scott.

Axl has the voice, talent, & heart to encompass all AC/DC voices to help the band maintain the integrity of the sound.

Now take Angus out of the equation and surely the band would disintegrate.

Wonder if Axl's leg will still be in a cast for the first AC/DC shows..

If not, will he be able to walk properly in the immediate time after removing it? Anyone have any knowledge/experience with that?
