Crazy he's doing this after breaking his foot. The Dr said he'll have the cast for 4 weeks. So is it right to assume he won't need the thrown in May for ACDC

Mixed feelings. In some ways - great, we'll get to hear Axl sing 15 or so songs we've never heard him sing before and that has happened once in the last couple of decades. That said, announcing this now seems a bit like pissing in your own Cheerios. Takes the focus off the GNR reunion somewhat. Either way, interesting times.
Not sure about that. It will probably only add to the anticipation of the stadium shows. Instead of Axl going into hiding for 2 months, he'll be front and center onstage keeping busy. Any and all reviews will make mention of the upcoming GNR shows. I don't really see the downside.

True, I hope it works out that way. My worry is how AC/DC's fanbase will take to Axl and how/if that reaction will impact Guns.

I think i heard he can't put any weight on the foot for 4 weeks. That'd put it right at the end of April early May. So he may have to start the tour sitting down.

When his foot will be ok? Will he do all these AC/DC dates (and GNR too?) sitting in a chair?

I think they said his cast comes off after 4 weeks. He might not be able to walk properly yet though.

He could use the dates as a rehab of sorts, getting him used to moving around and singing on a large stage again.

That's a different story. I'm pretty sure most of their fanbase is not going to be too receptive. They can choose not to go to the shows though. I'm pretty sure they offered refunds on the tickets. So hopefully whoever decides to show up is there for the right reasons.

I would think so. Plus, the good press Axl has gotten recently could entice others to check it out. It's really another once in a lifetime opportunity.

taken from acdc website:

AC/DC'S ROCK OR BUST WORLD TOUR

RESUMES WITH AXL ROSE ON VOCALS

"AC/DC band members would like to thank Brian Johnson for his contributions and

dedication to the band throughout the years. We wish him all the best with his hearing

issues and future ventures.  As much as we want this tour to end as it started, we

understand, respect and support Brian's decision to stop touring and save his hearing.

We are dedicated to fulfilling the remainder of our touring commitments to everyone that

has supported us over the years, and are fortunate that Axl Rose has kindly offered his

support to help us fulfill this commitment."

AC/DC will resume their Rock Or Bust World Tour with Axl Rose joining on vocals.   The

European stadium tour dates begin on May 7 in Lisbon, Portugal and run through June

this European run of dates with AC/DC, Axl Rose will head out on his Guns N' Roses,

'Not In This Lifetime' Summer Stadium Tour.

The 10 postponed U.S shows will be rescheduled and announced imminently, also with

Axl Rose.

I guarantee there will be people bitching about Axl's performance in AC/DC (hell, there are already people writing him off) despite the fact that he's learning an entire set of of another singer's music on short notice, AND the fact that Brian's voice was getting considerably worse throughout the tour. I'm just worried it will wear his voice out by the time he gets back to GNR. There's no picking what songs are easiest for you tonight with AC/DC, they have a stable setlist. And it's easy to strain your voice trying to sing songs you're not familiar with.

Am I the only one who thinks, "whoa, AC/DC now for the first time has someone who can actually sing!"

So he's going to get a solid 10 days rest on his voice before the meaty part of the Not In This Lifetime Tour starts.

That should be alright.

Not a huge fan of him doing this, but whatever. It's only good for Gn'R in the end. So whatever I guess.

Wouldn't it be better to fully rest his leg, and do some rehab on it. I'm worried that he won't be at full force when the GN'R tour starts. And of course the leg isn't the only thing, what about the voice? Axl can do damage to his throat singing those ACDC songs..
