I'm an AC/DC fan.
I'm a GNR fan.
in fact I don't understand people who don't like one of these bands. in my mind if you like one, you like the other too.
it's like being a fan of the Stones and don't like Aerosmith. I just don't get it.
Axl Rose is a way better singer than Brian, that is a fact. AC/DC songs are way easier to sing than GNR songs.
you have way more space to breath, and where sometimes it could be difficult for Axl to sing his own songs live, it
will be easier for him to sing these songs. plus he's preparing himself for a reunion tour, meaning, being at his best shape.
if it happens, the reviews will be positive, no doubt.

I'm just worried that this is going to hurt his performance with GNR. If we were in 1992 I would love it, because I always wanted to see Axl doing stuff outside GNR and he was at the top of his game, his voice could easily handle.
Today I'm afraid that maybe he can't be great doing both and the bad reviews can also have some negative effect on the GNR tour.
Maybe I'm just being paranoid...I just don't want anything to ruin this big moment. Most of us are waiting for this for sooooo long!
And I'm actualy worried that he's not very into the reunion thing.

GNR are my favorite band, I think AC/DC is kind of whatever. I can take em or leave em. They are very repetitive and have way too many songs about "rocking." I don't think they have anything at all in common with GNR, except the fact they are also a hard rock band. Axl fronting this band automatically makes them an interesting band to me.
Funny you use the Stones/Aerosmith reference, because at least in my personal experiences most people I know who are huge Stones fans HATE Aerosmith. On the fiip side people I know that are huge Aerosmith fans also seem to enjoy the Stones. It is very strange to me as I actually think those two bands have a lot in common.
Also the common posts I am seeing on other sites about how AC/DC fans hate Axl and would rather have the singer from some AC/DC tribute group or Airborne makes my head hurt.

Guns N? Roses frontman Axl Rose has been pictured leaving a rehearsal studio with AC/DC seeming to confirm rumours he will replace Brian Johnson as frontman for the remainder of the band's tour. While claims remain unsubstantiated, with neither side commenting, the 54-year-old was spotted leaving a rehearsal studio in Atlanta where the rockers were rehearsing wearing a black beanie.
Sauntering out of the studio in a black and white printed T-shirt and ripped jeans, Axl looked every inch the rocker as he smiled to fans, amid reports he will replace Brian who resigned earlier this year after losing his hearing.

It would be FUCKING AWESOME. I'm a fan of both bands and don't see how this could go wrong.
Though I get the side of AC/DC'S hardcore fans. It's like someone else replacing Axl in GN'R itself. But fuck it! It's rock n' roll.

This is where 99% of the fans on the AC/DC boards will disagree with you, they view it in the other direction and don't think it's even close. They think Axl, his whole act, and pretty much anything he's done post 1993 is a complete joke. I have never seen more clips from the 2002 VMA's or the Bridge School Benefit than I have in the past few days on AC/DC fan forums.
What I can't blame them (AC/DC fans) for worrying about is that those videos exist and can't be hidden from. I nearly defy you to find a similar video of Brian Johnson where him and the band don't sound like a well oiled machine... No the material isn't as 'rich' or complex, but they never have an off night. Every show sounds like the 1992 AC/DC Live Album.

Same... the mid to late 80's 'Love in an Elevator' period really killed it for the aging rock fan that grew up with Zeppelin and the Stones when it came to Aerosmith because they became a Pop Band Cartoon Caricature of themselves.
If the 70's version of Aerosmith continued on and stayed away from the top 40 pop vibe, then maybe that would have been different.

This would be a really cool thing if Axl did this in the 90's . I would still be fascinated to see it happen now but you'd be hoping his voice is sounding good and he doesn't embarrass himself. You know what, let's get the Guns N' Roses show on the road and we'll see what happens. This is just another story that gets Axl in the media and more people talking about him, whether it be negative or positive, it's all part of PR

That's not true. Brian struggled when I saw them at Wembley last year.
For my money Axl sings "whole lotta Rosie" much better.

Brian struggled this whole last tour because he's going deaf, and has been missing cues to start songs and coming back in from breaks etc... That's why they are doing this. How about grabbing from the 1980-2014 sample where you are hard pressed to find anything resembling that. BUT even over the course of 2015 and 2016 his voice wasn't the issue it was weird things (like when Axl is furiously playing with the levels in his ear, except there is no volume for the ear he blew out).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ATAVIUD-nTo
This which is an 'off' night for Brian is no where near the 2002 VMA's or the Bridge School.
What AC/DC fans point to is youtube video after youtube video of Axl struggling with his voice... I think the are overblowing it, but you can't ignore that when Axl is off, he is really off. They are though unfairly judging him for stuff that hasn't occurred in years (like no shows, riots, and hours late starts).

How bad can journalism get.
You can think whatever you want of this whole combination, but if your article is titled "Why Axl Rose joining AC/DC is the worst idea ever", which is a good title, but then you list reasons like below, you come out as a complete douche:
- "Axl Rose is all nonsense, all the time"
- "Imagine waiting a bladder-bursting four hours for the gig to start and then halfway through, say, Shake A Leg, Axl yelps ?Gimme some reggae!? like he always insists"
- "Axl getting the gig fairly demands that you're gonna have to shell out a week's pay just to see AC/DC"
- "Even getting the set list together is gonna require lawyers"
- "He can come out and play the bagpipes during It's A Long Way To The Top (If You Wanna Rock 'N' Roll). I know he's got a bitchin' kilt collection."
That's just sad.

Just come out and kick ass with both GNR and ACDC, and those critics will be silenced. Until then, don't worry about it. If he doesn't kick ass...then he was once great...and we still have that.

BTW, that 1992 live album is incredible. One of my favorite live albums from any band. They sound amazing.

Is sort of odd with the vocal style that Brian uses that he never sounds off.

He's even almost 15 years older
Anyway brian sings barely 2 (high) notes, axl has 5 octaves, get it
