I'm hoping for a platoon approach to these gigs where several guys each sing a couple of songs. It would be a great way to send off the band too. The comments section of these photos are pretty discouraging in terms of him fronting the band. He's got an uphill battle ahead of him.

The one thing I will say as a fan of both bands... The average AC/DC fan is spoiled from a performance perspective. AC/DC just goes out an kills it every night, Brian sounds exactly the same every night (not saying it's a robotic performance, he just doesn't have off nights). Axl is known to be on some nights and off on others vocally (not terrible, just 'off'), that fan base is not used to that.

That will be his biggest challenge.

The part about opening for Guns was from a satire article last week I think.  No surprise it was denied, it was never reality

Did people not actually read that article?  I read like something from The Onion.

I did. See my very first respons ask g f anything in it was confirmed true.

I legit did a date check to see if it was April 1st.

This feels so wrong to me... even though Axl is my favourite singer, and AC/DC are my other favourite band.  I'm gutted for Brian Johnson - seems way to soon to do this.  Surely they should cancel the tour then take stock of the situation before pulling in a replacement.

Have to refund the money.

10 presumably sold out shows would be a lot of loot.

They weren't all sell outs, if i recall correctly. At least not at time of cancellation. I think most were. But not all.

If you couldn't tell from the overall tone and several clearly preposterous assertions in that article that it was fake, I'm not sure what to tell you.

Thank god 'The Colbert Report' is off the air.  Spares us an uncomfortable conversation.

I just had to check if it was an april fools joke. Wink. Rather than just a hoax.

I know Axl has never been media friendly so i don't expect him to come out and confirm/deny the rumors but ac/dc if these rumors were not true wouldn't come out and say its not true whether he does 1 show with them or multiple I actually feel like there is validity to this until i hear from either side saying yes its true or no its not. I have no doubt any performing on axls part with ac/dc wouldnt be till the fall after his gnr tour.

TMZ apreporting Axl announced 1 month ago he would be singing for AC/DC, yeah I don't recall that either..
AC/DC open No for GNR, news to me as well...
Axl singing fir both bands for the tour...Sure if Mike Mehir could do it for Suicidal Tendencies and Infectious Grooves why not Axl for GNR and AC/DC..Not buying it..Although both bands could do a 90 minute set each, with 15 minutes of solos and Duff singing for 10 minutes would cut Axl down to just over 2 hours of fronting both bands for the evening..Considering GNR have been known to go over the 2 hour mark quite often on previous tours this is a possibility, but a long, long, long shot at that...lll

Isn't the Axl/ACDC rumors kind of undercutting the GNR tour?

I don't think it'll affect it much, there's room for both I mean. There is great interest of the tour, all they did was release a little teaser on Friday and everyone is paying attention.

Guns N' Roses has topped the list of "most viewed bands" on Pollstar for many days now. People seem very anxious to know what the actual dates are for the tour.

Whoever runs AC/DC's Instagram has been liking a ton of photos people have hash tagged relating to Axl and AC/DC including a bunch of various photos that feature a photo shopped Axl and Angus.

To say I'm shocked is an understatement if this is true.

I'm not sure how I feel about this if it happens. Intrigued is one word I guess. I'd much prefer 100% focus on guns but if Axl goes out and does this and nails it, and the GNR tour is a success as I expect it to be as well, then the mans stature only grows. Conversely, it's a big risk, there is so much on the line this year already! It's ballsy, it's a huge play, especially with all eyes on him already, but if anyone can do it and do it well.... It's Axl

Interesting times indeed.

well, on the flip side, AC/DC fans may not be use to seeing a guy with that much charisma.

Have you seen an AC/DC concert? Charisma is not something you can knock Brain and Angus for... Their material is not nearly as complex as GnR's and the range vocally isn't there, BUT Brian can bring that gravelly voice that nearly mimics the album recordings every night. Axl has much more range, but tends to struggle/hurt himself when he try's to push that rasp for too long.

They also fanatically protect their 'heros' the same way some of the people in our fold do... they will question any outsider that they think will tarnish the reputation of the band and Angus specifically. Axl will need to be thick skinned as far as fan and press blow back if this were to happen.

Personally I think he would crush it, and it's a win-win for both camps, but we'll see how real this is. BUT the AC/DC forums are about 98% negative about this, and frankly I think the 2% are some of us getting in the mix to defend Axl.

I don't know this is win-win for Axl.

People already unhappy about it will go in with closed minds and come out of the building spitting venom.

I think the chances of people saying "I had huge doubts, but I have to admit, he was awesome" coming out of the show are around zero.

Winning the hardcore AC/DC fans over would be difficult, but the press for Axl if he does kill it (plus the potential of video/audio etc) could help fill out 21+ stadiums in the US later this summer (depending on when these 10 shows would happen). It's the causal rock fan you are really trying to win over, like independent voters this coming November...

I am sure most of those ACDC tickets were sold right?

So lets say 30 percent of fans want a refund... I would imagine the GNR fan base will scoop those tickets right up don't ya think?
