I don't get the hate against Axl. He could have said "No, I don't wanna do this" too. But he said yes (Even with a damaged foot)

It's actually really easy to understand.

He's NOT Brian.

Ding, ding, ding.

Let's say Axl had really fucked up his foot.  Couldn't even sit in the chair and just could not perform.

But, fear not...because Slash's buddy Myles is going to fill in!  Everything will be fine!!

What would our reaction be?

My reaction would be that my interest level has gone down from my favorite band to basically a band that is not GNR.

With AC/DC, it is the same minus one detail.  Axl is WAY more famous than Brian.  I am not knocking Brian, but his name is not a household name.  EVERYONE, or close to it know AXL!

I would love to see the Werchter show! So far I only found black market tickets & a waiting list

I bought a ticket for the front standing area of Marseille from viagogo for the "normal" price.

So when these shows begin do any videos have to get posted under solo or side projects as i am sure people are going to want to post videos of his time in ac/dc this is going to be a highly sought video considering its going to probably going to be the only time you ever see it. i almost want to laugh its kinda funny to think about but legitimate question at the same time is this a side project?

1 year ago today if I told you guys Axl Slash and Duff would get back together and that Axl would front ACDC I would have been laughed at so ridiculously hard  rofl It really is a great time for rock and roll and both bands will give the world a huge kick in the ass

It is cool I guess, but Ac/Dc in general is stale rock n roll. (last 2 or 3 albums)

It's kinda like a ham sandwich with mustard. it's alright and sometimes good, but nothing more.

I am thinking they may do a tour of heavy old school Bon Scott stuff...straight classics.

Well, away from the AC/DC boards, I see some positive feedback on this thing.

I think it helped that the clip of 'Whole Lotta Rosie' was not only so readily available as soon as Sunday morning, but Axl sounded great doing it.

Think its still very legit to wonder how he'll do on a something like 'Thunderstruck', but most people seemed to dig what they heard.

I wonder if Axl's joining AC/DC means that they will start coming onstage at 11pm? Or even later. I've seen AC/DC twice and the first time they came on at 8:30pm and played about 1:45; second time they came on about 8:45-9pm and played the same. The point is, they seem to be early on-early off, not like Axl.

I assume so.  And I think he'd respect that.

This is still one of the bands he grew up on.  This is like his own 'Rock Star' trip, these dates.

Here is an article from FOX

http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2016/04/19/acdc-fans-rip-angus-young-for-dumping-brian-johnson-hiring-axl-rose/?intcmp=hpff

This article suggests that AC/DC are under the ruthless, iron fist of Angus, and that the real anger of AC/DC fans is aimed at Angus. They feel betrayed and that Angus is becoming cash hungry and making AC/DC a lucrative rock brand instead of a loyal band.

Personally, I know many AC/DC fans who have no problem with Axl, and are big GNR fans. They like Axl's vocals and wouldn't deny that he is a much stronger vocalist now than Johnson.
BUT, according to them, that is not the point. It has always been about the bond, the fraternal brotherhood of a "no bullshit" band.

I think many AC/DC fans are just heart broken at the slow demise of their band-- the problems with Rudd and the loss of Malcolm to dementia is too much. They feel like they've "lost their band" and essentially one original member can't hold it together and keep the "AC/DC magic" alive.

From CNN, here is Johnson's take on it: http://www.cnn.com/2016/04/19/entertainment/brian-johnson-ac-dc/index.html

Brian has released a statement confirming the hearing loss story.

He also thanks Angus and Cliff, seems to be no hard feelings against them.
