Would you support a remix of the UYI records?

The UYI records, overall, if viewed as one album, is GN'R's best work. But arguably, it is the worst produced of all the albums they put out. The drums have way too much reverb and sound very flat due to the mix/production, the guitars are way too slick and compressed, so that the lead and rhythm parts kind of sludge together; Axl's vocals are lower in the mix than on Appetite.
Imagine if Axl/Slash/Duff remixed the UYIs and gave it a remix similar in sound/rawness to AFD. I am not talking about removing Dizzy or any content, merely remixing the overall sound and production of the records to sound rawer and looser, like Appetite.

I'm never going to be against getting more GNR albums - so yeah I'd support a remix - at least in theory:
Practically, the band's time is zero sum. A month spent on UYI remixes is a month not spent on something else. It depends on what else they would do with that time. If remixes are at the expense of new music, I'd rather have new music.
Also, while they could probably remix the UYIs to make them sound rawer, I don't think they can "chase" the AFD sound. Too many differences. A much broader range of instruments were used on UYIs as opposed to AFD. Adler vs. Sorum also made a big difference. The songs themselves were fundamentally different too. They could make the UYIs sound different than they do, but they still would sound quite a bit different than the 1987 band.

I like TSI mix. Gilby's guitar are louder than most of Izzys on UYI. And SFTD also has great drums and guitar sounds.
But I don't dislike UYI mix. If anything, I think I like Slash's tone more than on AFD (I know it's not a popular opinion), tho this is not really a matter of mixing.

Hell no.
It's a great album the way it is, I'd rather see them working on new songs. It's not even a matter of preference, I just don't want a remix at all.

Sure it would be nice to hear a remix, but just like Voodoochild, I don't particularly dislike the original one either. But I think it should be an anniversary release or part of a boxset or something like that.

in my opinion, everything we can now get is a remix era. no idea if ChiDem material will be included, or only old stuff will be re-released this way. the most likely way of GNR future is occasional nostalgic touring and re-releasing old stuff. I don't really think we'll get much new songs released
or some more things that every other band does, like... interviews, promoting records, making music videos, let bandmembers talk on their own... oh well, I started dreaming a bit

Hmmm. I'd respectfully disagree and say that the GN'R's best work is still Appetite. But, I love me some UYI. "Don't Damn Me" and "Breakdown" are some of the best overall work the band's ever put out.

Nah.
Pearl Jam's 'Ten' is one of my favorite albums ever, and I hated the remix. I assume I'd hate these too.

No way, any imperfections are ingrained in history at this point, I wouldn't want that messed with. The album is what it is, leave it be.

I'm for hearing anything the band wants to try, but I thought the "Illusions" were perfect and already sounded better than "Appetite." Not sure what I would want to change about it honestly.

I'd be down for a remix I guess. Why not? As long as Clink does it or someone notable. Not some clown.
I do agree that the best songs from UYIs together could be as good as Appetite. Then again several songs from UYIs were wrote during Appetite so that kinda takes away.
If they included something NEW with the remix like demos of the songs or studio session DVD if there was one that would be great.

It depends what you mean by "support". I would probably buy remixes, but it's not the first thing on my list for things I want to hear from this band. And only if I knew that they were significantly different from the originals to be worthwhile. I mean, I'm not going to notice if the snare drum in the chorus of "Don't Damn Me" is turned up slightly, if the bass in "Yesterdays" has some extra compression on it or something. I don't really care about that stuff.
I'd be more likely to buy an album made of alternate versions - demos, works-in-progress with different lyrics or arrangement or something. That would be more interesting for me.
Edited to add: Something like the Beatles did with the Anthology project. That would be cool.

nope.
I dont get the whole obsession with remixes. If they want to spend time on actually making music.. id prefer a new song. I am entirely with what i have... i dont need to hear it in a different format... id just prefer a new album.

I don't think a remix would take time from actually making music, they can easily do both. Also, they had more than enough time to write stuff.

I didn't think that the UYI records sounded all that bad, but that being said I would love anything new by GN'R! I would really really like to have their albums in high-res for my Pono Player. 24/44.1, 24/88.2, 24/96, or 24/192 would be amazing! Fingers crossed!

"I feel your pain" as Bill Clinton would say regarding the possibility of Chinese sessions placed on the back burner but I am looking forward to that old vault being unloaded like Soundgarden have done since reuniting. An Echo of Miles type box set with all the demos we've heard before(plus some we haven't) would be amazing.
