Couldn't be happier with what's going on and what's gonna go down.  How cool would a new tune be to go along with all the buzz circulating.

As much as I would like, I don't think they will. But here's hope.

"The boys" hahahahahahaha!

A bold statement to say you "couldn't be happier" with what is "GOING to go down"- we've got no idea what's going to go down!

An arena-vibe song with a middlefinger-attitude would be great. something along the lines "we're old, fat and hated each other but we don't give a fuck. it's us against them again"...

The lyrics to the Manic Street Preachers song - 'the masses against the classes' would work surprisingly well actually:

"The Masses Against The Classes"

The primary role of the government is to protect property from the majority and so it remains

Hello it's us again
We're still so in love with you
And yes we mean it too
Yes we're so in love with you

Hello it's us again
You thought you were our friends
Success is an ugly word
Especially in your tiny world

The masses against the classes
We're tired of giving a reason
When the future is what we believe in
We love the winter, it brings us closer together

So can you hurt us anymore
Can you feel like it was before
Or are you lost forever more, messed up and dead on alcohol

Hello and fond farewell my dear
I hope you hear this nice and clear
Our love is unconditional
Our hate is yours to feed upon

The masses against the classes
We're tired of giving a reason
When the future is what we believe in
We love the winter, it brings us closer together

The masses against the classes
We're tired of giving a reason
When we're the only thing left to believe in
We love the winter, it brings us closer together

A slave begins by demanding justice and ends by wanting to wear a crown

Would be astounded if they did.

Is it even needed?  Those 2 shows in Las Vegas didn't sell out on the promise of new songs, but rather, the exact opposite.

Definitely not needed...but it would help to better frame what this new lineup is about.

Sounds to me like you guys are all for another cash grab by Gnr Mach 5...too funny. Same old cash grab for Axl this time except he just gets a bigger payday!

No new music and it is the same old same old for me.  ok

Its true they don't need to do that, with the success of shows selling out so quick.

An iTunes release, one song even, would be super awesome.   But wishful thinking on my part.  peace

Selling music is damn near impossible these days, so wouldn't it be their best hope for getting decent sales to release some music during sellout concerts at a time when the whole world is paying attention?

I think if they book a U.S tour sometime in the near future that would be a great time to drop a new single.  It will give all the local radio stations of the markets they are playing something new to play as they talk up the tour.

Remember when Axl said "If the music was there, meaning new music..." as being the only caveat that would make a reunion seem attractive to him?  Not saying that's what's happening, or will happen, but it shows that he likely is not opposed to the idea.  That's something to think about, I guess.  Smiley

It's more of a "blood from a stone" situation.

We'd like even one new song from this line-up as much we would have liked even one new song from the last line-up.

If you are the getting the same level of cooperation, all your wishes in the world don't add up to a hill of beans.  We don't prefer it that way, but its how it is.

Highly doubt any new stuff has gone through the rigors of production that is required for today's music

It is what it is. It makes no difference to me why they are doing it. I'm just happy they are.

I dont lie awake at night debating with myself the reasons for this happening. And it also makes no difference how many millions more they are going to make from this. why should it?  Undecided

Even the Stones had a couple of new songs here and there, ex: "Doom and Gloom". New songs would be really nice. I surely wouldn't want to go and see the same setlist, without a few CD songs... Totally doable. I would actually be disappointed if they won't have one newish song. Or at the very least play a few songs that haven't been played in 20 years.
