Does anybody think that either or both Slash and Duff have written stuff in the past and have kept them under lock and key for a hopeful punt at there being a reunited GnR?

Pretty sure Slash blew his wad on the first VR album.  But who knows what can happen, if the juices start flowing again.

I doubt Slash has potential hit-songs laying around, he would've used his best material for each album he's done I think.

Maybe riffs or chord progressions he didn't know how to proceed with...

Just something to add to the discussion: 2015 was the first year when old albums outsold new releases:

I don't think anything regarding new music has been confirmed.

The Izzy rumor came from Niven I think.

Use Your Illusion I (1991)

« Reply #50 on: February 02, 2016, 06:01:23 PM »

Izzy is there helping them write new stuff. That is what we hear. Nothing confirmed as stated already.

I want a Use Your Illusion album for sure. They can mix it up and add some CD feel to it. That's fine. I just don't want CD II with Slash and Duff at the helm. That would be fairly disappointing to me.

Use Your Illusion I and II were somewhat experimental with the piano stuff mixed in. It was kinda a surprise ya know? Hard rock with a piano and harmonica that rocked. Loved it.

Bad Obsession meets You Could Be Mine meets Right Next Door to Hell meets November Rain

that style of music is what I would personally love to hear.

I agree.  I think that's true of most musicians.

I think theres maybe 1 or 2 almost complete things laying around they might try to dig out?

Who knows. More than likely there's not much that ideas or fragments.

It's completely possible that Axl, Slash and Duff were greatly inspired once they became a band again, thus creating new stuff out of the blue. It can happen when you're in an environment with a high level of energy and passion.
