River plate is also the last place Axl performed with Slash prior to this year.

Seems like the Rio de Janeiro venue is still not confirmed. Its now changed to TBA.

Thats really really bad. Maracan? is the obvious choice, however there's been a mist on how the stadium management will be conducted after the Olympics. Apparently the company who runs it today will end the contract and there are negotiations in place with new companies. I think that unfortunately this concert gets moved to Engenh?o if things are not settled fast!

That's good news! I like his songs. He's not anything special, but he does have some solid songs. Great guitar player and great band aswell

Yes!!! That's great news! I hope to see them in Sao Paulo!

When do the sales start?  beer

If they're ever gonna release a Blu Ray out of this tour, I hope it's from Argentina - River Plate stadium. Even though I'm brazilian, the Argentinian crowds are just fucking insane
If the crowd overcome the band's - and especially Axl's - sound, I'd rather have a less noisy place to get a proper Bluray. No ofense to the Argentinian crowd, Im sure this is the place to have the best live experience. It's just that I like the cleaner sound as much as possible on live recordings.

Not sure why it changed, but if there's this uncertainty with the management, maybe it's not that bad to move to somewhere else.

Axl will probably acknowledge that during the show.

Company claims the State has not honored its part in the contract...related to concessions to exploit stadium surroundings (parking lot, stores, etc). So the company is claiming they are loosing money with the stadium.

^ So even if this sign is true, still doesn't mean that Lenny Kravitz will open all the other Latin America dates.

Please, let's keep this thread with as much official info as possible, shall we? At least give us some concrete source if the rumor is strong.

Not uncommon in Rio's pre-Olympics. That sucks big time.
When I attempted to catch the band in 2010, the show were supposed to happen in Sambodromo. But then there was a little hurricane preventing the band to have a proper stage. hihi

I'm only gonna try to get the Sao Paulo gig. Still worried about the ticket prices, tho. As you know, the economy here is pretty bad. And its me and my wife's tickets.

it's a near sell out, and philly crowds can get crazy. middle of the summer and I'm sure a lot of people are taking off Friday (and today like I did). I've watched a lot of old concerts on youtube, and the crowd at the philly show in June 1991 was noticeably wild on those videos.

but it is going to be 95 and humid, so that could take some energy out of the crowd. but still should be awesome!  beer

So, I have a friend who used to Nanny for one of the families that owns the Phillies.  She (and her hubby) are actually going to the show tonight, in a suite the team picked up.  Supposedly, a bunch of the team are also going to be in attendance....so keep your eyes out sandman. Wink

will do! thanks for the heads up. that's awesome to hear.  beer

just another example of the anticipation and excitement for this show. my FB page is insane with people going that I wouldn't typically consider a gnr fan or even a hard rock fan. cool to see.

PSA for tonight's show: Just saw on Twitter that GnR tweeted out that they are opening gates and starting the show early! Instead of 8:30, first act is going on at 7:30.  Guns still looking like 9:25 though...they just added an additional opener!

Just like I thought.  Guns is not playing around with any local curfew laws.

It is what it is
