I don't think they will announce anything until the first run of shows is over.....I think promoters may be slightly cautious and want to wait to see how these gigs turnout.

Sure seems odd to use a screen from a GN'R promo video to promote a Metallica concert. I mean, these guys are supposedly marketing experts and they surely know there is tons of material like that in every stock photo site. Using one of those would be a lot easier

Maybe the creator just wanted to play a little game with GN'R fans.

The crowd footage from the GnR promo could have been stock footage used by Chris... after all he was cutting together GnR concerts with Slash live shows so who's to say he didn't grab a random crowd shot that looked 'cleaner' than what he could get from the Vegas shows (as an example).

Sure, the GN'R promo might be stock footage, so this could simply be a coincidence.

But then again, why would someone go for a screen from a video footage, when there are millions of photos like that already. Well of course they might be working for a video ad too, but still... a strange coincidence!

I like that thought process, and it is certainly within the realm of possibility.

I know he's not popular around here, but that's what Eddie Trunk has been talking.
Not saying he's right, just wondering.

Yeah, I know its not going to be popular to ask around here.

But just think about what I'm saying.  Could there be a feeling that they'd like to do a big tour, but let's just make sure these first few shows go off without a hitch before committing?

That could be anything from Axl realizing he though he could do this with the old guys, but now sees he can't.  Or Slash and Duff seeing too many things they think are red flags.

This doesn't mean the rumored 25 city tour won't happen.  But to suggest it might be a holding pattern for the time being is, at this point, a fair question.

There is no going back for Axl if he decides he can't make this lineup stick.

My best guess is there is a financial and strategic plan behind not announcing the next round of dates yet.
