There are TWO people who could "cock this up" or "ruin the whole thing" and neither of them are Dice or AdZ.

i dont know who got them back together, but i do know who had all kinds of dark plans set in motion to prevent this from happening. in spite of their, and particularly his sinister efforts, this has still somehow managed to happen.

I imagine a number of celebs have been "working on the reunion for years."

Think about.  Just about every celeb friend they have has likely one time or another asked them if they will ever get back together. 

Not sure that counts as "working on the reunion" though.

Anyone can make the claim that they helped bring the reunion together but in the end it all came down to Axl n Slash putting aside whatever differences they had and said lets see if we can make this work those are the only 2 that really matter anyone outside of that is just trying to get notoriety because its only going to become a bigger story as we get closer to these dates and people wanting to know how this all came about.

I believe only Marc Canter being the "catalyst" for Axl and Slash starting communicating again.He is friends with both even after his Reckless Road book came out,which must have pissed-off Axl.
