Haahaha

Wouldn't be opposed to them digging out Axl's red Sgt. Pepper jacket either.

If Slash stands on top of the piano during the outro of NR, it might be the single coolest moment I've ever personally witnessed. Nothing wrong with a little showmanship.  ok

Damn right... one of the first images that pops in to my head when you mention GNR...is him standing on the piano during the video.

set list prediction for April 8. First night of the reunion and i think they keep it fairly straight forward. but one change....WTTJ is a perfect opener, and I love the CD/WTTJ 1-2 punch to get things started, but I think they save WTTJ for a little later in the set like they did back in the day.

I'm gonna say they open with a cover song. so maybe they start by giving a tribute to someone who has recently passed (Lemmy, Bowie, etc.) or they open with one of their favorites from the Stones or Queen. maybe go back to their early days and play Jumpin Jack Flash. the rest is pretty standard, just a couple extra Illusion songs in there.

Cover Song (JJF, or for a prediction that's even more of a long shot, Paint it Black. have always dreamed of them playing that song cause I think Axl and the band would absolutely kill it and take it to a whole new level).

yeah^^^^

Izzy is underrated. he always will be. He was that quiet dude that played good guitar that had a great vision for things and he complimented Slash just amazingly.

This is sort of a devil's advocate question for the hell of it, but I think it bears asking.

For YEARS we heard how Axl could not be forced to do something he didn't want to do.  How if he didn't feel like doing something, you just had to suck it up and accept it.

Why is Izzy not given that same treatment?  Izzy is not there for one reason and one reason only : Izzy.

He clearly isn't into this.  Why are so many insistent on him doing it anyway?  Why doesn't he get that same pass Axl got for 10 plus years?

pretty sure you have NO IDEA what Izzy's reasons are.....and on top of that, he very well may be involved. We just don't know yet.

That's a really good point. Maybe when all is said and done, he really was done with it in 1991, and is simply content to guest-spot with his buddies whenever the spirit moves him.  It wouldn't be the first time he passed on a big gig. He turned down VR once Scott came into the mix, just because he didn't want to deal.  Who knows where his head's at now?

He's involved...but not featured in one ad?

Seems unlikely.

I think it's safe to say that if Izzy, Steven etc. take part, it's going to be restricted to guest spots. And that's fine. Better they put on a long show with all the songs we love, rather than an hour and a half AFD5 nostalgia fest, for 50 yr old fans to dump their collective muck to.

I think they bring out Izzy and Steven at Coachella, if at all, and only for Coachella.

Could be, if the Vegas shows turn out to be glorified rehearsals for the band to get their stage legs.  Which, by the way, I have no problem with and think will be much more interesting as far as song selection goes anyway.
