I don't know if I want him to hear on CD songs but I think the following suit him more or less.
Chinese Democracy
Better
Street Of Dreams
-------
TIL (the solo section is meant for Slash)
TWAT (the solo section is meant for Slash)

Think we have to consider lyrical content. There's a few songs I don't see being played ever again if Slash is in the band. IRS, Prostitute or Sorry being among them. Of course it's open to interpretation but I don't think anyone can deny a vast amount of CD is about the breakup of the old band.

IMO, people who think Slash can?t play CD songs are either (a) attempting to devalue his playing ability and/or (b) overstating the technical expertise required to play CD guitar parts. Last I checked, Slash is regarding as one of the best guitarists of all time?pretty sure he?ll do ok. Is Shackler?s his style?no. Are they likely to play that?no.
There are several songs (and let's be honest if CD songs get played at all it won't be several) that Slash can play. This whole "issue" is blown way out of proportion.

Most solo's on CD are definitely in the same ballpark as Slash's style. Besides the obvious.
I could see Slash really getting into the CD title track and Street of Dreams. There are a few progressions that would just fall right into his lap!

These are the only 4 songs from CD they should even play too.... anything else would just be intrusive to the point of this reunion.

If the question was "What CD songs do you think Slash will play live during upcoming shows"...I'd agree.
But it's not. It's asking for songs I WANT TO HEAR Slash jam on, live.
So...nope, I don't have to consider anything else but that...what I want.
My list stands.

Funny people saying Slash cant play some CD solos...
Have you heard Beneath The Savage Sun from his last record? If not, you should...
Or this better the any tapping shit on CD
https://youtu.be/bC8EmPA6H6g?t=4m16s
It's two different sounds. I like both and for very different reasons. Yeah, that's a cool solo. Slash is more melodic which is what I prefer. But nothing wrong with how crazy buckethead and bumblefoot play. Each has it's own place. All are badasses. BTW, the action on Slash's guitar is insanely low.
Edit: Street of Dreams, Better and Catcher.

I think the idea is interesting.
It would make the show(s) be about all of GN'R, not just one specific era. Maybe some would prefer it to be about one specific era, that's fine.
And if that was happening, then obviously I wouldn't be surprised if these songs were performed with their own twist to them.
Did Buckethead play the Nightrain outro solo exactly as it's on Appetite? No.
If you want to hear the songs exactly the way they were recorded, you got the records to listen to.
Please don't remind me of that buckethead nightrain solo might be the one thing that made an old lineup song better lol. I still go to youtube from time to time to hear bucketheads nightrain solo

The more industrial stuff probably doesn't work for Slash, but he could play anything. Not sure how a Robin lover could accuse Slash of being sloppy.

I could see slash doing "Better" just like the first half in the CD version and the ending like the DJ ASHBA remix version would probably be perfect (Without the power down, bubbles, and noodling in the middle).

With that said, I think it would be fun to see the sound Slash brings to most CD songs

All this talk of how CD doesn't suit Slash's style, maybe not, but the thing that makes life worth living is the ability to choose to learn something new, it's what gets me out of bed anyway. Don't suppose any of the band is much different either.

Would it be awkward for Slash to play 'Sorry' considering the lyrics seem to be directed at him ("You know where to put your 'Just shut up and sing'")?

It could be about a manager though.. the label..
