I think Chinese Democracy would send the message that the band isn't discounting the last 14 years.....

but I would think Welcome would be the bigger crowd pleaser.

They could play Chinese Democracy as the first song of the encore.

another thing.....before Jungle, last warm up song....99 Problems by Jay Z...then have the "From Hollywood California..."  drool

Ha! I like this idea, I wouldn't be unhappy if this is what I see at Coachella Cheesy

it would get the crowd bumpin and jumpin....then the intro...then that blood curdlin jungle scream....set the tone.

Only one...Jungle

This has come up many times before - so here it is again

You cannot open this with anything but Jungle...period

After that - stick with the brilliance that follows - Easy, Train, Get me & Brownstone

Then all bets are off....start mixing in Illusions

I'd love to hear Don't Damn Me. It's a killer track that we never had the pleasure of hearing live, never mind as an intro. I think the fans would explode to hearing it live. However there will also be a lot of casual fans at Coachella who wouldn't be familiar with Guns back catalogue so they might be better playing a hit like Jungle. I'm praying for Don't Damn Me somewhere in the set list though

I'd say there is zero chance of this happening, BUT:

Do the McBob Intro, then you hear Axl say "Wake up, It's time to play" and they play Shadow of Your Love for the first time since probably 1987.

There is no way it'd happen, especially on a "reunion" tour, but I think Shackler's would be a great opener. Realistically, Jungle will probably kick off the show.

I agree, but it never really became a regular opener until Rio3... It was usually deeper in the set. I'm very interested in what the dynamic of having Slash and Duff back in the band do for things we've gotten used to over the past 15 years. Do they have input, or do they just plug in like other pieces have since 2000.

It has to be Jungle.

Lights go down, Slash walks out with the spot light focusing on him, teasing the crowd for a minute  or so.
Axl walks centre up front with Slash by his left, Duff by his right. He looks at both of them, then to the crowd "Do you know where the f**k you are!!! You're in the Jungle baby, Wake up! Time to diiiieeeee"
Will be the most intense and emotional Jungle not seen since Rio 2001.

Honestly my first choice is CD and that's coming from a fan of 25+ years...it has always been the most impactful start imo. All the classic AFD tracks have their spot in the setlist and really play a huge role charging up the crowd over and over during the show.

I would be shocked if any CD are played.

Of course everything released in his mind is GNR. I say that because with Slash being back in the band he didn't have anything to do with post illusions GNR. I expect zero post illusions GNR with Slash and rightfully so.
