Do you guys think they're holding off on releasing the full line-up of the band purposely, or maybe they are still working on finalizing contracts with the people involved so they're not 100% sure yet who will be in the band (apart from Axl, Slash and Duff)?

To me that says Izzy, Steven and Matt are not involved, at least in a full capacity.  I feel they would have mentioned them.  They made a point to mention the last time Axl, Slash and Duff shared a stage together. It looks like Slash and Duff are rejoining the current band, which I think is great!  Once again this is just a guessing game on my part, but that's what it looks like to me.

They are former members who are regrouping.

I would agree.  Reading between the lines and inferring all that isn't said is just as important as the things that are actually said when it comes to GnR. 

Having said that, Steven has been *insanely* quiet.  He's either being gagged and held against his will, or he will be a part of this in one way or another...

Is the mind playing tricks on us or is Steven very often in the press usually? I am asking because I haven't paid that close attention to how often we used to hear from Steven before..

Could it be that it's perfectly normal not to hear anything from Steven for months at the time? Not sure.

I'm no authority, but Steven always showed up somewhere talking about Guns in one way or another...it wasn't constant, but I'd say every few months something would show up.  What absolutely IS abnormal - at least to me - is to *not* be hearing from him now, as he's always been the biggest - or at least the most public - advocate and cheerleader for a reunion...

Last we heard he had been sober for 20 some months I think, that was 2-3 months ago.

The wording of the release is a bit wonky (former members, etc), but fuck it, who cares.  GNR is reuniting!!!!

Pretty sure Eddie Trunk said he reached out to him and was rebuffed, or what have you. Typically he would jump at the chance to talk to Eddie or anyone else in the biz who might inquire. And I'm sure there have been others.
