So maybe a question for another thread but do we think that the band was aware that this was going down when they played the last Vegas residency?

I don't know how long this has been planed for but im just happy that Axl and Slash are on good terms again. Anything else is a bonus , I think

That full lineup for the festival is a mess! Guns n roses really don't fit in on that bill at all it has to be said. A strange choice for a festival I think.

Coachella is ALWAYS a very eclectic lineup of acts.  They range from pop to rock, and from established heavy hitters to underground no-names.  That's what they do.  Last year AC/DC headlined, along with Jack White and Drake.

Does anyone know the size of the crowds at this particular festival is it like Rock in Rio where its a huge crowd or is it a smaller size?

They sell out, and their capacity is 99k per weekend.  So...I'd call that a huge crowd.

Advance sales (which is sorta like a big presale thing) are sold out...which are only for weekend 1.

The rest of weekend 1, and all of weekend 2, should go up at 11 AM PST, tomorrow (Jan 6th).

I know this probably hasn't happened in years but if they were smart they would put this on Pay Per View how many of us in an instant would order this. Would make millions easy.

Not wishing to get hopes up, but in previous years I believe they have in the past streamed the whole event live for free, via the website. I remember watching the outkast set.

They did stream weekend 1 last year, courtesy of T-mobile (I think?), on their youtube channel.

I don't think they did weekend 2, though.  But someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm pretty sure, last year, AC/DC's fan club got a day of "early access" to (a very limited number of) Coachella tickets last year.

I'm not sure if that will hold true for GnR THIS year, but that might shed some light on what's coming today.

Does anyone else find it strange that we still really have no 'official' announcement of who is in the band? As far as I'm aware all our info is coming from certain people re-posting stuff on Instagram, which is crazy!

You'd think they'd have announced this with info on who is in the band, and a press photo of them all together or something! Unless of course it's still up in the air as to who is in the band, which could explain a Jimmy Kimmell delay?

I would bet it is more likely that Coachella signed some sort of exclusive deal to be the first to publicly debut GNR as it is or something like that.  That might be the reason for the Kimmel cancellation IMO.  Maybe Kimmel after Coachella formal press conference or something.

I think Slash and duff's posts are pretty much confirmation, at least for their part. And I'd even call it official.  It did come from "band members or their attorneys", after all.

And Axl confirmed the GnR appearance via twitter.

I'm sure we'll get something more, coming up.  This was a great way to get the initial info out there, and get people talking.  Lets see what today brings.

Yeah, I watched it this morning...DVRd the show last night.

Jimmy seems pretty breezy about it.  He doesn't seem really annoyed or angry...but he did address it, which is sorta nice.

Axl, Slash, Duff Izzy and Dizzy are GN'R. The drummer never mattered. Izzy supposedly doesn't want to be a part of it, so I'm cool with whatever lineup they've put together as long as the others are in.
