I believe so. Not sure exactly why, but it seems like something he'd have no problem doing.

Even when Weiland first started talking sh*t after starting VR, I don't recall (and could be wrong) any response or back and forth on Axl's part.
Have to believe at this point anyway, respecting the talent of a man who left too early would be a non-issue

Could? Yes. Will? Up to him.

It'd be nice but to be honest it's more Slash & Duff's duty to pay tribute to Scott, him being their bandmates and all. Maybe they could do a VR song with Duff on vox while Axl takes a breather.

Sorry to ask, but why? I mean, what would the reason be?

I think Lemmy, as a musician, had a bigger impact on Axl.

I'd love to see them do a VR song , but I think jarmos take is accurate . There is much better chance to see This I Love get played vs Fall To Pieces.

Plus if they ever do a song ...

It will be out of respect or whatever you want to call it to Slash and Duff ... Not to honor Scott.

I think only because of Slash and Duff and if they felt it was worth approaching.
Obviously if Weiland never played with them, this question would'nt really be asked and Lemmy would seem more appropriate to expect a tribute for..
but the guy IS dead and at least in my experience, STP is was a common band that many a Gn'r fan liked and respected.

The reason is obvious, at least if there really is a reunion with Duff and Slash. They were bandmates with Scott. We all know Scott was badmouthing Axl, and it's not likely that Guns will ever play a VR song without any ex VR members in the band. But I think it would be beautiful to see a tribute. Time will show.

I'd agree with that. And if there were some VR songs that started as ideas for GNR songs, like "Fall to Pieces" I could see that making some sense. But not necessarily as a "tribute" to Scott.

Scott backed off those comments years later, albeit when he was on the outs with the guys in VR. He sympathized with Axl at that point and questioned whether Slash and Duff were "lead singer haters".

I don't ever see that happening, for so many reasons.  Also why I don't see Sorum being involved in any sort of reunion...too many opportunities for "Velvet Revolver finally found a new singer" cracks.

I think this will be about firmly re-establishing Guns n Roses in the public consciousness as a force to (rightfully) be reckoned with.  Any references or tributes will be reserved for the artists and people who have *always* influenced Axl and the band...but that's just me.

The other night I had a dream where he sang Slither using his low-range 'It's so Easy' voice and then his usual raspy one for the chorus. It sounded good. Then I woke up.

Lighten up a little..it's not that big a deal if he does or doesn't and it's a fair question to ask considering Weiland dies just as Slash and Duff are planning to re-join Gn'r.... For Axl to jam out during this tour for a few minutes on a VR tune or two is not a big deal

IMO, Axl won't do a tribute song to Scott like, "Fall to Pieces".  However, if anything, I could see the following:

"We'd like to dedicate this next song to Scott W. who left this world to soon!"  Then they start into KOHD.
It seems like this is the way they have addressed those that have passed before.

No.
there's no point in doing so. A tribute to Lemmy is more likely than Weiland.
By the way, which Motorhead song do you think would fit Axl to sing ?
maybe Damage Case ?
