Axl on Jimmy Kimmel Live [not this time]

Cameras and recorders are taken away today also. Difference is everybody has a smart phone today, which has both those capabilities. If that had been the case in 2001, they couldn't have enforced the same on that. No one gives up their $500 phone at the door, they would have played to an empty venue.

I saw Dave Chappelle a few weeks ago. They didn't allow phones and they handed out a locking device prior to entry in to the venue. Then, on the way out, they unlocked it for fans. So...it is very possible on a small scale anyway. That said, no way there is a warm up show prior to Coachella in my opinion.

It would be good for the band if there are warm up shows. After such a long time off the road, I would imagine there are some form of mindset you as a performer need to get yourself into. That's what the warm up is all about.

People on the Coachella forum are discussing how OutKast in 2014 essentially used weekend 1 as a warm-up, as the weekend 2 performance was astronomically better.


Now, if there's some kind of contract that prohibits GNR from doing that, there's not much you can do.

For people in the LA area, right now there are tickets for Tuesday available. Earlier they were sold-out. I guess this comes and goes as some figure they can't attend and so on.

Axl hasn't been announced yet though.

I tried he other day on my iPad and can't create an account.  The creating account thing just keeps spinning. 

If anyone gets a couple tickets to Kimmel and wants to be joined by another GNR fan, I'm only 20 minutes away.  Always love meeting fellow GNR fans.

Stones always do warm up shows before their tours.  They do their in Toronto.

It's like training camp for a sports team.

They should ABSOLTELY do some rehearsing, with Axl.  Public or not remains to be seen. 

But they can't just go out there in April and wing it with all these eyes on them.

Rolling Stone notes that "multiple sources confirmed" Axl's going on Kimmel.  I'd say it's more than just a rumor.

Anyway, possibilities are endless as to what Axl will do on Kimmel.  Announce a new tour, new lineup, new album, play a song with Slash and Duff.  I'l take any or all of the above.  2016's looking good!

Right now they list Natalie Dormer as the only guest and music from PVRIS for Tuesday. No offense to either of them, but there seems to be a pretty big void there. Thankfully a few guys we know well around here may have the night free.

I'd assume Axl will be the first guest, and Slash will join him at some point. Then Natalie and the fact that a musical guest is listed probably rules out a performance from Axl and anyone else.

I think Amy confirming it is pretty much all the confirmation we need at this point. That's about as close to confirmation as you can get without Kimmel coming right out and saying it.
