All acoustic

Acoustic/electric

All electric

There have been tons of different takes on this one. Slash playing Imagine in the breakdown was pretty sweet I think.

What's your favorite?

Honestly, I think all electric.

My favorite versions of this tune are from 1991 and 1992.

Interesting choises, i like them all.

If i had to pick one it would be one from the one from December 1991 - February 1993 era with Gilbys intros (Gilby jams a song and Slash sherds) included, either with Wild Horses with  Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds or without, or even Happiness Is A Warm Gun, they were all great.

I really like Matt's playing on the song on that tour, it builds up nicely, and at the last part he makes the song drive. It has the biggest sing along vibe of all the versions i think.

I never liked Izzy's I Was Only Joking intro.

The 1993 acoustic version is really cool too.

I also really enjoy the ones from 2002-2007 with Robins rather untraditional but kickass solos, with the drums that start with the solo. I tend to like those with Brain on the drums better, cause he always had some weird licks that somehow worked. Id rank this one second best.

The ones from 2001 were a mess...

DJ Ashbas solos are cool but not the best i think, i have a bigger dislike to Richards acoustic pedal effect.

The ones from the 80s are allright too.

All electric is cool but you can't go wrong with the 2012 Vegas version with electric and acoustic. Sounds epic.

Yeah, I never thought that intro worked either.

But Gilby's, yeah, that's the one

Really?

I love that second side of 'Lies'.  Think those are Axl's best vocals overall.

Yeah its just personal taste i guess.

I can listen to it for sure, but its not the first side i reach for... and its not bad or anything.. i guess its more a case of..how would you rather hear it .. that kinda thing.

I choose the 1993 acoustic with the Imagine jam in the middle.
By the way, isn't there a mixed version on live era ? I'm too bored to put on the cd right now,but i remember the first part being from Paris 92 and the second part from a 1993 acoustic version.Or is it the other way around?

Although I'm a big fan of the 1993 version, I also really like what Robin did with the song. His solo is a bit different, but it's up there with Slash's I think.
