both mediocre at best.....still pissed that such a great band ended on half assed efforts....could be a personal problem though!  hihi

I was dying for a new Gnr album in 1993 and 1999. Such is life.

Well Live Era was a Del James Project. And the band was not much into it. It could?ve been a much better album with live performance of Breakdown and Locomotive from MSG 91 or Coma from Chicago 92

I really like many of Axl's vocals on 'TSI?'  Really sounds crisp.

'Live Era' though, total debacle.  The rerecorded vocals, the obvious fake crowd noise.  That said, there are a few real standout tracks on there I really like.

Yes totally agree! TSI was way underrated IMO.  Live Era with the rerecorded vocals was a big mistake. Didn't need to do that. I did like some of of though. You're Crazy I really liked.

Oh, no doubt.  I'd say they all do.

But I own many of these concerts.  So I know just how manipulated they are.  Fake crowd noise is one thing, but completely re-recorded vocals should never be considered.

Some touch up overdubbing, OK.  But songs like 'My Michelle, 'Pretty Tied Up', 'Estranged'...these are totally new vocals.  That don't sound a thing like the source material.

I liked robins vocals on mr brownstone. Also in the credits they misspell Chris' name

The back-up vocals on 'Brownstone' are like spotting a bad toupee.

I mean, come on now.

I don't see anything wrong with it. Better than "Tracey and Roberta"

Live Era could and should have been a 2-DVD release with backstage footage, jams, rehearsals and every little thing any fan is dying to watch. The vinyl is very cool to own.

I have unedited bootlegs that I felt were superior than Live era. TSI had some excellent songs, but too many were obscure songs..Would have preferred some Aerosmith or Rolling Stones covers instead of some of the punk bands..

Fair point,
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fyOg9Q54HWE
This is the unedited version of  that same part sounds super close to live era too.

Tsiis just fine as a rock band doing punk songs cover album.   I really like a couple of songs on this album.

When live era came out.  I used to go to my local hmv record store. Where they had the import version of this album from Tokyo.   Is used to just go to the listening booth and listen to coma as it wasn't available on my copy.  The album was something like 60 bucks hahaha.   I did this many many many times.

Kinda miss record stores.   But I can't be leave I actually used to go and listen to music in them and spend time in them. Hahaha

Think about it.

What are the most widely available concerts?  The ones with the best sound.

1987.06.28 - London (Marquee)
1988.02.02 - New York (Ritz)
1988.12.07 - Tokyo

1991.08.17 - Stockholm
1991.08.24 - Mannheim

1992.02.22 - Tokyo (DVD)
1992.04.06 - Oklahoma City
1992.04.09 - Chicago
1992.06.06 - Paris
1992.12.05 - Buenos Aries

1993.07.16 - Buenos Aries

And those are just a few we have on bootlegs.  They obviously have a ton more in their vaults, all with great sound.  Many to pick from.

Here's the point.  Do those versions of those songs not sound great, as is?  Sure they do.  They sound awesome.  And were a true representation of what the band sounded like in those eras.

So while I could understand evening out the crowd noise and some of the sound levels from different shows so it all flows like one concert...why fuck with the music and vocals of the tracks themselves?

Will the gnr fanbase ever be happy?! rofl

Me too, because I don't have nearly as many from that time.   Either with great sound, or just in total.

2010 is especially weak on soundboards that got out.
