Regarding the cover album, did anybody go find the originals?

/jarmo

Yes!

I really like the original Since i Dont Have You.

The only ones that i think are better or as good as GNRs versions are New Rose by The Damned and I Dont Care About You by Fear.

I know it's not cool to say I like this, but GNR did a really nice job covering the Skyliners tune as well.

TSI is a really undervalued album IMO.

I agree. For me its one of the all time GNR classics. I like the video they did aswell.

I think TSI is great. Matt Sorum peaks in that album. I have a friend whos favorite GNR album is TSI.

I like Live Era as well, i used to listen to it all the time before i got into bootlegs. I dont like how much Live Era is compressed. TSI is too, but it works in TSI.

Never understood why they erased Gilbys parts on Rocket Queen.

Probably in my top 5 Axl vocals.  Kills it.

black leather was my favorite song on TSI would have loved seeing a live version of that song.

On a side note I remember when TSI came out and the biggest story about it was the Charles manson cover song which I think Axl I thought did very well with. I miss the good ole days of when the biggest issues people had with axl were the lyrics in songs whether it was one in a million or or a Charles manson cover lol.

Yeah, I liked a few of the originals.... Dead Boys' "Ain't it Fun", and Nazareth's "Hair of the Dog" were good.  I liked the original "Since I Don't Have You" as well.  Fear's "I Don't Care About You" was featured in the original DECLINE OF WESTERN CIVILIZATION movie, which I own.
