Am curious at the thoughts of the board on this little ditty. I think it's an interesting idea and would've worked as a longer track, amped up synth bass and with some guitars added.

Dizzy was asked in a interview if they were on acid when he and Axl made that

Erm... definitely one of those "What the hell was he thinking?" ones for me.  As far as I'm concerned it is utter drivel with no redeeming features whatsoever.

I consider some peoples' posts utter drivel with no redeeming features whatsoever, but I really like My World.

Aren't opinions great? Cheesy

It's an interesting track I think. UYI albums threw a lot of different musical ideas about. Was interesting hearing stuff like this from a band like Guns n' Roses. Bands sometimes get criticised when they try different things and change the format. Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins, U2... GnR. Some people don't like that band playing a different style song. It's not a song I'd put on right away but I dig it at the end of that album. It's dirty

I was surprised when I heard it the first time.

But it shows how Axl was already into the use of synthesizers and so on already back then.

It's always funny reading people go on about how Axl wanted to go industrial and/or electronic with Chinese Democracy. There is an earlier example of that.  hihi

Given that this is a discussion forum, can we not just assume that pretty much anything written here is going be opinions and subjective and all the rest of it?  Can we not just take that as read?  Is it something that needs pointed out whenever something critical is said?

Axl was into industrial before a lot of his peers on the hard rock scene. I remember I think it was one of the Metallica guys saying Axl was playing them NiN and they were still listening to Slayer...some quote along those lines, but he had his ear to the ground with whatever was new and hot in music, at least in the 80s and 90s. He was promoting Soundgarden and Faith No More even before the 'grunge' era started...As early as 1989 he was saying "Faith No More is the future of rock music."

Nine Inch Nails opened for GN'R at two shows in Europe in August 1991. Way before their big breakthrough.

Axl was wearing a NIN shirt at shows in 1991 as well.

He always wanted to do a project with Trent Reznor and Dave Navarro. That's one of the things I wish would've happened. Axl, Trent Reznor and Dave Navarro collaborating on a project would've been killer. He also said around '93 he had a big urge to hear Dave and Slash together:

"Trent Reznor from NIN is one [guy I want to work with], and Dave Navarro from Jane's Addiction is another... I've talked to Trent about working with me on an industrial synth project, at least on one song, and I definitely want to work with Dave on something. I've always been curious what he would sound like working with Slash on something."  (Axl, Hit Parader, 1993)
