Out of interest what is your hopes for GN'R in 2016 Jarmo?

Want to see Axl & Slash on stage together again??

I'm hoping for an active GN'R.

Not gonna speak for Jarmo, but it is clear he supports Axl and whatever version of Guns is right for the time. That is how I feel at least. I may have my different favorite members, but in the end, I am an Axl fan and "semi" trust his decisions in regards to Guns.  Tongue

Our opinions are pretty similar.
I trust his decisions more than just "semi" trust though. Smiley

The question is, if you, Jarmo, and no one else, had a say in it, who would you prefer be sharing that stage with Axl? Everyone has preferences as to who they'd want to see beside Axl more than another party; for example, I would rather see Robin Finck on stage playing lead in Guns rather than DJ Ashba. What is your preference?

I'm not in the band....

I don't take myself that seriously.  Smiley

Whoever Axl thinks is the best choice at that time. ok

Just because you're not in a band doesn't mean you're not allowed to have preferences with regard to lineups. Go to any message board about music, you'll see people can have preferences in band lineups. Some people prefer Black Sabbath with Ozzy. Some prefer it with Dio. Some prefer The Rolling Stones when Brian Jones was in the band; others prefer it when Mick Taylor was in the band; still there is a small contigent that loves the Ronnie Wood lineup the best. And so on. Just because you're not in the band doesn't mean you can't or shouldn't have a preference.

There's been what, 8 or 9 lineups of the band (I included the pre-Appetite lineups and the 1994-1999 studio lineups)? Surely out of all those, over the past 30 years, you can look at one lineup and say that's your favorite out of all of them.

I liked the shows I saw in 2006-7, I liked the shows I saw 2009-2014. I liked the show I saw in 1991.
I liked watching the MTV Ritz gig on VHS back when it aired and the RIR3 gig when that aired.

I agree.  He's never remotely hidden that.

He's going to support whatever comes down from on high.  Classic line-up, yet another new line-up, new album, no album...whatever.

People say he's anti-reunion, but I don't see that.  It would not fit with everything we know about him and what he has told us all directly, time and time again.

Example:

Never I Like Dj Ashba, but version ultimate tour, was amazing

He's coming to the Isle of Wight, why the feck did he have to leave Gn'fR's  crying

Maybe. But that's my actual opinion.  Smiley

All the different line ups meant something. Which one is the favorite? No idea.

The second Jarmo gives anyone a favorite line-up, the next time he's all over your shit, you can throw it right back on him.

"But Jarmo, even you have admitted this is not your favorite line-up."

C'mon folks.  He's been doing this for TWENTY YEARS.  He's not going to slip up.

Not everyone has some sort of hidden agenda in mind-

Some of us actually appreciate and value each and every incarnation of GNR sincerely- it isn't any sort of act or online persona gimmick.

I have enjoyed every GNR show I have ever attended, and will enjoy the next touring cycle no matter what.

Some of us actually appreciate and value each and every incarnation of GNR sincerely- it isn't any sort of act or online persona gimmick.

And you value them all equally?

Because that is what is being discussed here.  He refuses to say which line-up was his favorite.

Logic would dictate that he (or anyone) prefers one line-up over the rest.  It's human nature.  Every parent has a favorite, regardless of what they say.

This does not automatically mean there is anything wrong with any other line-up, anymore that it would mean you love your other kids any less.  But I think its fear that things would then be spun that way which leads to him not wanting to admit to a favorite.

His whole schtick is how everything going on in the here and now is awesome.  That's never going to change.  Fine, whatever.

But where is the harm in saying you liked every line-up and every line-up rules, but this was the one I liked the best?  The only harm I can figure is the very reason I just laid out.

If that's wrong, he's free to correct me.  It's only a theory.

But, at the end of the day, my money is on this conversation not going to lead to him admitting to a favorite line-up, for whatever reason.

You're talking about me like I'm not here. Funny.

No, I don't really have one favorite line up because they're all favorites for different reasons.

One was the one that made by buy AFD, one was the one I saw live the first time, one I saw in 2006, another I saw in 2009-2014 and then others I only experienced in recorded form.
Should I like the one that made me a fan the most? That's what some do. I don't.
Obviously that makes that line up special, but then other line ups have other things that made them special (for me).

Maybe unlike you, I don't think of things in terms of "If I say this, then that will happen". So you're wrong about why I can't pick a favorite. Not that it makes a difference.
So you go ahead and pick favorites and condemn me for not playing along. Smiley

Hey, maybe the original* line up is my favorite!  Tongue  hihi

* Original meaning the one that existed before the one that some of you think is original. Tongue Just kidding.
