But then where is the wisdom in letting this train get rolling down the tracks if he has no interest?  What's the upside of that "plan"?

That is where fans get frustrated with him, I think.  So when he emerges from wherever he's been hiding out, with beefs about what others said and what expectations were fostered he didn't want fostered, then, you have a problem. 

Its exactly how this is going to play out if this doesn't happen.  His uber defenders will just go hoarse telling us that since he never said anything, he does not owe anyone anything.  True?  Yeah, somewhat.

But then other fans will ask what the hell he thought he was gaining putting himself in that situation and that some of the responsibility for his current situation is on him.

That's where the fights between fans start.

You pretty much have to root for this reunion tour because the alternative sure as shit seems to be nothing.  No talk of any progress on this new album, and not even a band right now.

Yep. No one wants to hear the next album more than me, but if my options are a reunion tour or nothing, of course I'll psych myself up for a reunion tour.

Thing is, once those two hours are over, all we'll have are memories of the show, however fun it may be.  An album with 12-14 new tracks would be timeless.  But I digress...

And Richard saying the album is directed for 2016. That's doesn't really mean much even if Axl said it, a release date will tell.

Seems like a pretty big longshot to expect them to make some big announcement on a holiday weekend.

A sentiment we can probably bookmark, for when we are having this same exact conversation approximately a month from now.

At least well have our 'Welcome To The Jingle' shirts to tide us over then, though.
