Led Zep I and Skynyrd's first album have multiple long tracks...just off the top of my head...that was 1969 and 1973....not unheard of for band's to come out with epics right off the bat.

would love to hear some more November Rain demos as multiple band members have talked about it's varying degrees of length so there must be something on tape.

Yeah, that one too.
A great example of what I was originally talking about it Pretty Tied Up.
Ever wondered where Axl sings the last paragraph of the lyrics printed in the booklet?
(But I can tell you a thing or two
'Bout somethin' else
If you really wanna know-Know what I'm sayin')
The song fades out before that. Or maybe it's my hearing....
But the longer version is available on bootlegs.

Yeah, I'd be interested in hearing that. I love that song.
And also spent time back in the day listening to it over and over again, headphones cranked, to try and hear it.

It would also be cool if they put out a couple of the multitracks online so the fans can mess around with them and do their own remixes like NIN did a few years back.

The multitracks worked for NIN because it was NIN. I mean, they've always released remixes. So in a way, it was a continuation of that.
I don't know if GN'R fans and NIN fans have an interest in making their own remixes in common?

Really hope that we'll have some kind of anniversary editions, for Appetite and UYI 1&2s at least.
Perfect Crime documentary would be unbelievable to get. So would some proshot stuff from 01-07 for the CD anniversary.
Since the Greatest Hits was such of huge success, i would imagine Universal will release some sort of new best of album (with better songlist and some extras would be nice) soon, since it's been quite a while (2004).

I wonder if there was a version of DTJ recorded with Axl on vocals? Wondering because even before Izzy left the band, Axl sung it live. I'd kill to hear that version if so.

Izzy did a great job on that song on the album, but live, Axl owns that song.

Interesting discussion! Would be very cool to get few more bonus and alternative tracks.
Appetite For Destruction
Keep the mix and mastering nearly as is. Maybe add a tiny bit of volume if it works without losing sound quality. IMO the "classic" reputation of this album makes it very hard to change without getting a big backlash.
Add the old '86 demos of You Could Be Mine, Don't Cry, Back of Bitch as bonus.
GN'R Lies
On this one we could seriously improve it by removing all the fake crowd noise.
Add recordings of Shadow Of Your Love, Heartbreak Hotel, Jumping Jack Flash and Cornchucker as bonus
Use Your Illusion I & Use Your Illusion II
Revisit the mix on some of the songs to remove some of the effects and samples. Some examples:
- Garden: remove the background voice at the start
- Knocking on Heaven's Door: removing that phone call please :-)
- Dead Horse: remove echo/reverb on Axl's voice at the start (keep his voice, just less effects)
- Coma: remove woman voices around 7:15
- Get In The Ring: remove the personal rants and also remove strong effects on some Axl's vocals
- Pretty Tied Up: strip it down to its core, a nice rocking tune
Maybe even the track order could be revisited. Axl mentioned being rushed to get the two albums out of the doors. With that in mind, it make sense to retouch these two albums.
Great bonus could be Ain't Going Down and maybe even the old demo recording of This I Love from '92 or '93. All the other unreleased songs could be packaged with '89 demos of the UYI tracks. If Crash Diet was actually recorded all by GNR members, add it too as bonus.
"The Spaghetti Incident?"
Add all the unreleased songs which were recorded. Even if that means having multiple covers from the same band.
Chinese Democracy
I wish they could release older alternate versions of the albums, like having a full length 1999 version of CD and also one album with just the 2002 demos. Releasing Catcher of the Rye with Brian May on it would be nice.

It may have been a rumor that was eventually proven inaccurate, but I remember hearing that
Appetite For Destruction
had been re-recorded perhaps for a re-release with "Don't Cry" and another song included with the set of songs. I think it would be cool to hear those different versions and/or album.

I will actually pass on that one... I'm all for not letting Guns N Roses die...
but certain things should be left alone... kinda like Jurassic Park sequels!

But is that for remixing or highlighting the different tracks?

Something that popped up in another thread.
Allegedly Sweet Child O' Mine was longer but the record company thought it'd be too long, so it was edited down.

I read that the record company forced the single version to be shorter, which pissed off the band. The video version is also shorter.
Btw, i always liked when Axl often added that

Yeah, the edits are even shorter....
But even the album version seems to be shorter than originally planned.

Are we talking about the length of the guitar intro, or are there other parts that were intended to be longer?
