MTV Music awards tonight, can you imagine if..........?
Favorite GNR moments for me..
1-Axl N' Izzy joining Tom Petty for Free Falling and Heartbreak Hotel
2-GNR/Axl comeback "Round 1"..Not the best performance but excitement value makes it n?mero deuce!
3-Scruffy Axl and GN'R screeching through WTTJ
4-Axl and Elton John performing NR and Axl  accepting Michael Jackson award for NR video, "not sure what Michaell Jacskon has to do with this"..
5-Axl strutting out and introducing the Killers...
Am I missing anything?

All cool experiences.
I really hope the Bad Blood video by Taylor Swift featuring Kendrick Lamar wins video of the year! beer

#2 on your list is my favorite because it came out of nowhere for me. Hadn't really paid attention to the band after nothing really happened following End of Days Oh My God release. I was sick and at home watching the award show and then there is Jimmy Fallon sayings Guns N fucking Roses. It was a cool moment even if the performance wasn't their best.

With the way MTV is these days, I don't see any way Guns are relevant enough with the younger generation for MTV to consider even asking them to play.

2002 vma's Axl was off...the band was firing on all cylinders. It was neat though...

I'll go with Axl and Petty because that was a real suprise...

I was in attendance at the 2002 show, GNR still stole the show despite any difficulties. Was a great night beer

I am so glad GNR wasn't involved in that clusterfuck that was this years VMAs. Every single clip I've seen from it shows it was absolute garbage.

'Free Fallin' for me.

Pre-internet, total surprise.  Could never do that today.

It was cool for 12 year old me because I thought Axl Rose was the coolest guy in the world.  So for them to hype the shit out of the "suprise ending" as hardcore as they did, it was cool having your guy be deemed worth that sort of build up.

Because, even as a Tom Petty fan (yes, even at 12, via my Dad) when he was first introduced...I was like, "wait, that's it!??"

For me it was the original Welcome to the Jungle performance in 1988. I had high high hopes for 2002, then it happened, so honestly it is 4th in my mind.

1. WTTJ - 1988
2. Free Fallin - 1989
3. November Rain - MJ Video Vanguard Award
4. 2002 'Comeback'
5. Killers intro (only listing this because it was an option)

1988 is solid.  Loved Sam's intro too.

I was never as hyped as in 02, performance has it's flaws but that is probably the best WTTJ-scream right there. Epic band and all. Lovely Axl-style.

LOL yea I watched that show and knew for sure GNR would be the surprise performance...  As soon as I saw Tom Petty I turned off the TV (oops)!

If you switch it off right after the opening scream, its awesome.

Jimmy Fallon was so excited.  The crowd was hyped.  And that opening scream was solid.

But then...

I remember watching it live, and sort of keeping track of who hadn't performed and might still be left.

Dad assumed it would be some all-start jam type of thing, like at the RNR HOF.

I appreciate some of her tunes as quality pop tunes.

And as a Dr. Dre guy, got nothing but love for Kendrick Lamar.

Can't get into that song though.

I also don't see the appeal of that song. The Veronica's new song should be in that category.
