Never said any of them were choir boys.   There are 2 things in this world that I consider unforgivable.   Child pornography.  And a self destructive drug addict inflicting his selfish self destructive behavior on others.  You have a draw a line somewhere.  Steven more than crossed that line when he shot Erin up with that speedball.

Both are terrible...

but just so I'm clear you don't draw the line with abusing women and forcing yourself on them ? and you are female?

There are also a lot articles about Axl doing things that could have very easily landed him in prison for a very long time, regarding his behavior with Erin.

Yeah, even if Steven were guilty of shooting Erin up (which he denies), I always thought it was ridiculously sanctimonious for Axl to preach so hard back then about what Steven allegedly did to Erin.  Steven was never taken to court over what he supposedly did to Erin.... but Axl sure was.  Erin sued Axl Rose, and just find her deposition if you wanna read the dirt.  You can say all you want that Steven could be lying and avoiding responsibility, but Axl has never publicly confessed or apologized to Erin for anything she directly claims he did to her.

I'm not even going to begin posting links or quotes from Erin's deposition against Axl, because it would get deleted from this board in a heartbeat.  But the accusations Erin made against Axl were pretty horrific.  Search and judge for yourself.

So yeah, overall, I agree with what was said above.  Stick to the music, and quit bringing up these sketchy behind the scenes events.

I don't think Steven being actually arrested and serving time for beating up not one, but two different women is comparable to non-proven accusations and out of court settlements.

No criminal charges were ever made toward Axl, unlike both Steven and Slash.

Some people make erroneous accusations of a celebrity simply in order to make some $$$. Stephanie was making some serious accusations toward Brant as well in their almost divorce, seems to be a pattern with her.

Steven's was a criminal charge, for beating up two women, Slash had a criminal charge as well- just so you're clear.

Axl has not been criminally charged by either Erin or Stephanie.

Big difference.

None of that was proven. There are medical records to document the truth of what Steven did to Erin. You would be surprised how many women I know who are rape survivors.  We all find a way to move on in a society that tends to Blame the victim in those crimes.  But having your heart stopped by an ignorant douchebag is much more heinous

No there weren't.  There were medical records that showed drugs in Erin's system.  It doesn't prove Steven did it.

You only have hearsay, accusation, and personal belief to feel otherwise, which paints you out to be a hypocrite really, since you're so willing to believe Steven is guilty but Axl isn't.

Yes. I believe Axl.   That's why it's unfortunate he didn't let Erins family press charges against Steven

Maybe so.  But it would've been hard to prove.  You believe Axl?  Funny, because Axl himself couldn't have testified, since he wasn't there.  He's only going on the stories he heard.

Steven has always claimed that Andy McCoy and/or his wife were responsible.  Again, you can argue that Steven lied, but it has to be proven in a court of law.  At the end of the day, it would've been Steven's word against McCoy's, which would've had to carry proof beyond a reasonable doubt.  Not likely to have earned a conviction unless there's further evidence we never heard about.

Furthermore, Erin's family could've done what they wanted.  They didn't have to listen to Axl if they believed they had something.

In the end, Steven is only as guilty of harming Erin as Axl is.  Either way, neither was charged or proven to have done anything from a legal standpoint, which puts them both on the same plane.  The only thing you've got is what you believe, but the hypocrisy comes in when you start holding one man to certain standards but not the other man.

I think a reunion could be very dysfunctional, even jeopardize settled scores.

but just so I'm clear you don't draw the line with abusing women and forcing yourself on them ?

wait, what?

abusing men is not equally as bad?

I don't believe anything thAt Steven Adler has to say about anything.  A good district attorney would have no problem ripping him to shreds.  He probably would have copped a plea for drug rehab to avoid jail time anyway.  Axl has always been very honest about his shortcomings unlike Adler. I wish I was better at posting links to the interviews Axl did about the incident. And like I said. If I had been Erins nurse I would have provided everybody with the necessary guidance and support from trained professionals to effectively press charges.

This place reminds me of the Pre Chinese Days!! Awesome Shit!!!

I always used to say a decade ago, I'd be fine with Axl and Slash just burying the hatchet and being friends or just not enemies anymore.... Music secondary.

Tour would be great... New music being possible though??? not sure there.

I know a reunion tour, wherever, will boast the biggest HTGTH member party of all time.. I'll be there wherever it is in the USA.

I'm glad people like you don't have a say on anything. society just wouldn't work.
there are stories floating around and you give Steven a f'n hard time for it. Axl maybe hit women or whatever and you're just downplaying that fact. horrible.

not that I really give a damn about these stories (because you just don't know what happened!)

As Bridge put it: "You only have hearsay, accusation, and personal belief to feel otherwise, which paints you out to be a hypocrite really, since you're so willing to believe Steven is guilty but Axl isn't."

Never said Axl was a saint.  I think a lot of the stories about him are not true or greatly exaggerated.  I believe he is a good person.  I believe what he has to say.  He is very articulate.   I think Steven is a compulsive liar.  I don't believe anything he says.  I don't think he should be part of any reunion situation. Just my .02.
I am a huge fan of Axl Rose.  I am not a fan of Steven Adler.
If somebody abused me and I wanted justice I would take them to criminal court and not civil court.  I would not sell my story to a semi tabloid magazine like PEOPLE. You can't put a price on peace of mind. I would not want their money, just my freedom. And I wouldn't hold on to stuff from our marriage and sell it at a public auction almost 30 years later.

Do you hear yourself? or read back what you write?

You could be 100 percent spot on... but nobody here will take you seriously when you post stuff like this. Because YOU ARE being a hypocrite. No basis for these statements/opinions other than it's what you WANT to believe about people ... that you have never met.

I gotta say ... I hope Axl Rose never did those things he was accused of... I give him the benefit of the doubt that he did not. because if I knew they were FACTUAL... I wouldn't support his band in any way going forward.

If I KNEW Steven Adler did intentionally try to harm her with those drugs... then I'd despise him too... but I don't know, and neither do you. So try to just enjoy the music , and not concern yourself with hearsay.

I agree with JAEBALL.  This is getting pretty out of hand.

And the point, if there ever was one, seems to have been lost a few pages ago.

Mind boggling...

Especially coming from a woman... IMO

I'd love to get back on topic too... Maybe Steven truly isn't a fit to be a part of any tour, for a variety of different reasons. That's fine with me. Hoping Matt would get the seat anyway, but holy christ...it's like the guy doesn't deserve to breath.

I would like to see Matt as well.  And yes since I believe that Steven shot Erin up with that speedball, I don't think he deserves to breathe since he stopped her heart from beating.
