The problem with reunion talk is when it inevitably falls apart, we have to go back and pretend the alternative is just as compelling.

Amen about the not jumping to conclusions thing. Gnr land is such a crazy place, it has taught me a lot about the value of waiting for the smoke to clear, whether that smoke is created from movement in the gnr camp or intense identification with my own viepoint. It can be a real learning experience if you let it.

If they are friends again, then good for them. I'm happy for them. If they play music together, then so be it. As long as axl is there to sing along with it, I don't care who plays what.

A new album of material of songs from the chinease era would be just as compelling to myself

A reunion or new music or both or bringing back the band from the chinease era and or a world tour

They are all different animals and all very compelling ones.    The only non compelling animal though is the one that doesn't do anything.   I am not such a fan of that beast

And thus why, at this point, the talk is a bit premature.

Because, if nothing comes of it, or it wasn't even really legit....that won't matter. We will see exactly what you surmise, but in double barrelled fashion with an order of magnitude for good measure.. You'll have those bemoaning that it "fell apart" and blaming whoever their favorite scape goat is, and those cheering that it did, and saying whoever their favorite party is is better off.

And that goes for all sides and favorite parties/scapegoats.

Cautious optimism i get...but i think there is a fair amount of wooden construct preceeding equine , here.

Oh, I'd still be interested in that.  But as a second choice.

I'm just being honest.  If I could have Axl sharing the stage with Slash or with 2 guys named Harry, then give me the former.

Oh, WAY premature.

We seem to be glossing over the fact after the initial comment, Slash immediately changes the subject when talk of playing together again starts.

Exactly. Although its fun to speculate on why he put the breaks on reunion talk.  Wink

WE NEED FERNANDO.

Nah, no win for him.

Put yourself in his spot.  He would be incessantly badgered if he checked in with us right now.  And you know he can't really say anything.

Well, he?s the only one directly connected with us that can confirm anything at this point. I don?t see axl saying anything or GNR camp about this (and only this, not others kind of news).

Did Fortus say that something "phenomenal" will happen in 2016 with GNR in this interview?

Heard the interview, Richard sounded very excited about 2016, I believe he said it will be big year, or something like that. I hope so. Richard plays with so much energy and passion ! He said something along the lines of "maybe they'll play St. Louis again", which leads me to believe they'll be in the US which would be awesome  beer

Did Richard mention they were working on a song originating from Slash not too long ago?

Some of you guys talk about people retracting their previous statements about Slash if him and Axl become friends again.  Or even looking stupid.

I'll be the first one to say that even if Axl and Slash become friends again and possibly reunite, I would still have MY same thoughts about Slash from over the years.  It wouldn't change a damn thing.  Slash to me has been a back stabber, a media whore, seems to be a liar, and more.  I would still support GNR, and it would be cool to have their popularity rise again....but I would still have the same feelings towards the guy.

Good for them though if true...if they are happy with it.
