wake up my friend...you have not exactly been a slash supporter over the years....

First, I suggest some of you stop using the term haters about fans of GN'R. Considering how sensitive some of you are when lesser terms are used against those of you who don't even like GN'R today...

Second, all people are saying is that you need to be careful about this kind of news.
Some are acting like the reunion is a done deal now (not necessarily here, but on the Interwebs).

I wouldn't say this is 100% confirmed yet but gee I hope it is. The absolute comedic value in watching those who HAVE constantly bashed Slash for years and years and will now do a complete about face will be hilarious.

A lot of people will have to turn themselves into pretzels. Although based on past history, justification and spin come quite naturally.

IF and I do mean IF Axl and Slash work together I hope the CD era material come out asap followed by a tour with the guys that made it. Not only would that be cool but also would reward the effort and signifigant patience they displayed.

As for Slash. Well I am not really a fan of a lot of his solo work. By that I mean his bands, singers etc. however if you made a compilation of his best solo work purely as riffs and solos then there is at least 2 absolute killer GNR albums that never happened. Such a shame.

I'd imagine that there's a lot that would need to be worked out before they tour together, however a guest appearance to play SCOM would probably be more likely

If Slash and Axl have made peace, that is awesome news...for them, foremost, and also for the fans/world peace/etc. To connect 'speaking' and working together you would need a lot more dots to connect from point A to point B...but let me throw some more wild speculation on this fire: what if "Stay of Execution" is a double album with CD2 songs and music written for VR to give Slash/Duff an equitable amount of writing credits, and this has been in the works for over a year while we were all in the dark, whining/pining?

At a bare minimum, assuming that any of this is true re: less tension between them, good for Axl and Slash.  And that's where the "story" and speculation need to stop.

Is it exciting that this "news" comes out when GnR is without guitarists? Absolutely.  But at the end of the day, I just want to hear more music from Axl & Co. on his/their terms, in whatever form that takes.  *That's* what matters to me.

August 2014, in a dark, smoke-filled room in Los Angeles:

Slash: OK, Axl, Duff and Izzy are on board. We don't even have to ask Steven, we know he's in haha. So are we still shooting for Summer 2016?
Axl: Yeah, sounds good. When are we going to make the big announcement?
Slash: Maybe officially announce it in Fall 2015. But I got an idea: how about we get some viral YouTube videos out there first? Just some stuff to get the public nostalgic about the glory days of the band. Stories about the old LA days. We can get Marc Canter to do some goofy video about his plan to get us to reunite! haha
Axl: Haha, that's hilarious!
Slash: So what about Bumblefoot and Ashba?
Axl: Well, they're contractually obligated so I'll need to phase them out sometime next year. After I do that you can make one cryptic comment on some random interview just to get the buzz started.
Slash: That's a good idea! Maybe just a small line about us being friends again.
Axl: Yeah. But remember, until then: ABSOLUTE SILENCE. OMERTA.

I'm "cool "with  Robin and Bucket coming back. If Slash and Izzy  fucking Stradlin were  back I would be so extatic I'd  had  to  call in  sick from work!!!

Imagine Duff and Izzys song "How to be a man" with a Slash solo and Axl on vocals. Would be the meanest motherfucker of a song! I can relate both to Axl and Slash all those years ago when Slash told Axl to just sing the lyrics he was given and shut up! How Axl would have felt as a songwriter artist and as a person, being told off like that. And Slash's frustration with endless tinkering and "new directions". Sometimes your friends tell it like it is, wether your like it or not. They were both wrong and right since the Snakepit material were substandard but with Duff and Izzy along they can't go wrong with that chemistry. Functioning democratic group dynamics on the rocker songs and let Axl do the big ballads all the way come on! drool

I think Axl should release the follow up to CD, and then release all leftovers in one box set, live video stuff from 01-14.
And maybe then release the proper Greatest Hits record with Duff and Slash, with live stuff and other shit from UYI tour.
No reunion, but to get working some old stuff together, and release it.

You don't want to see them play together? And in a best case scenario create new music together? If it made themselves and the rest of us happy? You would prevent it if you could?

Well, I haven?t see the video yet. Just saw it. There?s nothing new in there, just Slash saying the same thing again, that this is old topic and this is all cool about it.
 Roll Eyes

There were other things. Slash wished Axl a happy bday on twitter and Del James has been an Slash twitter follower for a while. And Del also wished Slash a happy bday and he posted an old pic of himself and Slash. Needless to say Del is one of Axl?s best friends

At some point there was some communication between Axl's camp and Slash and he signed off on the Vegas DVD. Del posted a picture of Slash on his twitter from the UYI tour an was liked by Fernando. Slash started being positve towards Axl in the press. He wished Axl a public happy birthday on Twitter. Del returned a very warm happy b day to Slash on twitter.

Why are the Slash "haters" so quick to shoot this down, yet, whenever Fortis, Frank or others state there will be an album, they are VERY quick to believe them?Huh?? It boggles my mind. If you are a fan of this band, you should love hearing this news. At least they made peace with each other.

maybe because Slash has a very long history of lies and Richard and Frank do not?

It would be nice to know Axl made peace with Slash, but everything Axl has said in the past points to another path.

We all know you hate slash you need to let it go! Axl and slash have been talking for over a year now weather you like it or not  Grin

Sure, but it would be shame if we would not ever gonna hear all those unreleased songs Axl did with new gnr.
New music with Slash & Duff etc, well that's just funny, because it would be such of mess, and would take another 10 years, just like chinese did 😀

That's what Slash says, and in the scale from 1 to 100, Slash's words are 1 in terms in credibility.

And if that actually happened -and if you actually can read- you may see I would be glad about that.

Today is the 13th anniversary of the Leeds show in 2002. I can remember some words from Axl from that show about Slash  rofl

Jarmo, it's  true, though. For years, I've seen people -yourself included- bash Slash for no reason except that Axl didn't like him.  You gal and guys had no reason to do so. For those that have supported both Axl and Slash, it has been frustrating. Even today, there are people in this thread that have tried to put their own spin and say "well Slash didn't say that we're friends a reporter said it" yada yada yada.

I think it's great that both of them can finally let it go. I  just wish that some "fans" would do  the  same.

Where the hell did you get this "bash Slash for no reason" crap?

The man has said and done many things over the years that I didn't agree with. Just like some of you don't agree with anything Axl has done since 1996.

I don't even know if making this particular statement in public was a good thing. Everybody knows how the media works. One quote and then you'll get asked about it again and again.
Assuming their relationship has changed from frosty to something else, does it need to be broadcasted to the world at this point? I get that it's big news. But it's also the only news. People chose to run with it though.

wake up my friend...you have not exactly been a slash supporter over the years....

Interesting wording. Like the interview.
I wouldn't calls us friends. Also, so what?
