Dj ASHBA

I can not thank you ALL enough for your kind words, heartwarming messages and the incredible love that you continue to give to me. Thank you ALL for being so supportive, understanding and respectful of my feelings as I close one beautiful chapter and open another. You have my word, I will not let you down. God Bless.

‪#‎SixxAM‬ ‪#‎TheASHBAfamily‬ ‪#‎AFU‬ ‪#‎ConquerTheWorld‬

What does AFU mean?

DJ uses that hashtag to mean "Ashba Fans Unite"

Edit: Whoops...Emily beat me to it.

GUNS N? ROSES DRUMMER FRANK FERRER TO DISCUSS DEPARTURE OF DJ ASHBA ON THE GEOFF LENOX SHOW TONIGHT

Current Guns N? Roses drummer Frank Ferrer is interviewed on this week?s episode of The Geoff Lenox Show on Stone Chrome Radio. Ferrer discusses his career, the resignation of DJ Ashba, and gives an inside look at life as a current member of Guns N? Roses.

The Geoff Lenox Show airs tonight, Wednesday, July 29th at 8 PM, EST/5 PM, PST, with on demand replay of past episodes, only at stonechromeradio.com.

Any update to this?

It's posted here: http://www.stonechromeradio.com/uploads/7/6/6/5/7665751/geoff_lenox_7_29.mp3

@40:39 he talks about GNR.  He says the whole DJ thing has thrown everyone for a loop.  Until this point everyone in the band gets along. Hopefully you'll hear some good news soon.  The new music is consistent with Chinese Democracy.

Also, when asked who is managing the band he say Fernando and Beta Lebeis.

GUNS N' ROSES Is 'Forging Ahead' Following D.J. ASHBA's Departure, Says Drummer FRANK FERRER

GUNS N' ROSES drummer Frank Ferrer was interviewed on this week's (July 29) episode of "The Geoff Lenox Show" on Stone Chrome Radio. During the chat, Ferrer discussed his career, the recent resignation of GUNS N' ROSES guitarist D.J. Ashba, and gave an inside look at life as a current member of GUNS N' ROSES.

Asked about some fans' speculation that Ashba exited GUNS N' ROSES after getting news from GUNS N' ROSES lead singer Axl Rose about the future of the band, Ferrer said: "No, [we did] not [get any] new news, other than we're still forging ahead. But not any, like, you know? It's not really news. It's, like, there's a plan in place, and it's happening, so that's all I can say."

He continued: "I haven't spoken to D.J., but apparently D.J. would just, like? he'd rather do other stuff right now, which is cool. I mean, everything he said in that letter [announcing his departure] is true. I mean, he has a great relationship with the bandmembers and with Axl. Everything's good."

Wouldn't it almost be better saying there is no real plan?

If there truly is a plan, and this is its execution...that's not a huge compliment, is it?

Quick follow up question, do you have a wish list of guitarists you'd like to see fill the void?

No

/jarmo

*Edited the previous question and answer to just focus on this one talk track*

Really? No dream fill in?

The more I have been thinking of it lately if they stick with the 3 guitarist lineup, which short of a reunion (not likely) I see Axl sticking with, I would love to see them mix it up and get Orianthi into the fold. First she is a great guitar player, and secondly I think the female guitar player publicity would only help the band.

Why do they need a female guitar player? If she's the best available option based on her skill then great, but to do it because its the current social trend is pretty pathetic.

Richard said that probably before he knew about DJ leaving...  I bet they're all texting each other.

Any guitarist that's ever been in a bar band can play AFD songs.  Its the solo spots they are given so Axl can disappear that tell the tale.

Anyone that ever had a beef with Robin always pointed to his horrendous live solos, never his playing on the GNR songs themselves.

I'm not saying it as a sideshow act... she is really really good. The press that would come along with a female shredder would be a nice unintended consequence.

It would be the easiest fit, but in my opinion the best fit .... but who knows. Maybe Robin doesn't want to commit long term, maybe they have someone else in mind.... only time will tell.

Well, all I can say is that this development (DJ leaving) is definitely a shame. The worst part is that it most likely elongates the time before GNR tours again and/or releases any new music. I was hoping to see GNR again in the near future, a residence would be great, but that appears unlikely now.

I wouldn't totally say that. While it would be conventional thinking, however Frank just said last night that there is a plan and it's going forward. That sounds a little more optimistic

But don't forget...plans changed.  It's not the lack of plans...it's the failure/inability to execute on them that's mind-boggling.  And the plans are always "soon".  How about having a plan "now"?

Some guys need to convince themselves there must be other things working furiously behind the scenes, all as an elaborate cover for the sheer nothing that's visible.

I am not that guy.  If you are, good luck with it.

"Ol? Ol? Ol?, Axl Axl!!!"

« Reply #479 on: July 30, 2015, 04:00:01 PM »

True. Every five + years Axl has to rebuild a band because his band members get bored with his laziness and depart. That is the way it was in the past. Presumably that is the way it will be in the future. I think we can dispense with the ''this is the most stable lineup ever'' rhetoric.  Guns will never have a stable lineup. If you are a writing/recording artist, how can you stay in a band which does neither of those things?

"Laziness"?

How many platinum albums have you put out? How many bands have you founded? How many times have you toured the whole wide world?

Axl Rose has dedicated his life to his band and he has achieved more than you'll ever dream of !! You think you're such an expert of the music business but you're just a fan, like all of us here !!! So quit being a jerk and show some gratitude for a change.

Sorry but Axl dedicated his life to himself, if we assume that gnr is axl rose. Dont talk abut a band that factually doesn't exist. People come people go n nobody really cares...embarassing
