It started getting chilly during that time on the East Coast...
Hahaha.
No, it was flat out cold. And the parking there is a hike. It was a chilly walk back at 2:30 AM.

I thought I had enough layers with me to manage, but once we got to the East Coast, I had to get a thicker jacket.
The tour started in Florida and I recall there being a thunderstorm. Then a few weeks later freezing temperatures on the East Coast.

Monton in 2010 was an interesting show, the arena ceiling wasn't high enough so the stage had to be modified, great small crowd.
Moncton!
Talking of chilly places....

My favorite Gigs I have gone to were the 02 shows in London in 2010, and Several of the shows in NYC from different years both large and small.
I enjoyed the convienience of both Vegas residencies, because you can attend multiple shows without relocating.

My favorite show was during the first residency. I was there on my birthday and there was a lot of space right next to the stage under those bridges Axl would sing on. So it wasn't too uncomfortable or claustrophobic for me.
I'm also a Vegas junkie , so seeing Axl perform there so close to the stage on my birthday is just about a dream scenario.

Yeah, that sounds pretty awesome.
I had front row seats to see Alice Cooper in Vegas on my actual birthday, and it was a blast.
But if it were Axl, I'd have been over the moon.

If anybody ever happens to be on holidays or just traveling in a different country or even city, and GN'R is playing, go see the show.
It's funny how different places have different vibes.
Even the same cities but different week days.... And seasons of course.
You gotta love the guys who tailgate in November for example!
But it's the only time they get to see GN'R that year, so why the hell not!

For the people who attended 2 or more festivals during this tour, were the crowds much different in terms of support for GN'R?

First show of many for me on that list was Nov 17, 2011 at Izod. Hung out with sexkitten, and yes tailgated!! Chatted with a ton of people many from the forum. Went in and got to the rail left of center,
before the opener, and pretty much was planted there for 8 hrs.Between bands I made a mission to get us beers, which meant I had to go all the way in back of the floor, out the doors, to the beer stand. I
made it back beers in hand to rail, I might of pissed of about 20 people, but fuck em, I was already up there!! HA Great show , first ones I think since the Hammerstein shows for me. I could hardly walk
after. But after the show we went backstage,(thanks for the passes Jarmo,
). Mingled with other fans, Frank and Dizzy and Ron stopped in, chatted , signed things, took pics. There was two big coolers
one with an assortment of beers, the other with vodka and mixers. We realized we missed the last buses, and trains back to NYC. So stuck in bum fuck east Rutherford!!! But Coti came to the rescue, he
was hanging out backstage and gave us a ride back into midtown, where sexkitten and I took our respective subways home. I crawled into my apartment a little after 6am, GOOD TIMES!! MANY MORE STORIES AND SHOWS YET TO GIVE ACCOUNTS!!

Yeah, it was quite chilly my last GNR show 11/19/11 in Hartford. We tailgated though. A few beers warms you up just fine. Plus I'm accustomed to cold weather tailgating for Patriots games.
I bought 10 tickets for the show and found enough takers, so we had quite the crew for that show. It was awesome. We initially bought seats, but decided to try standing room instead. I ended up about 10' from the stage or so. Closest I've ever been at any concert, so that was a huge bonus. They went on late, around midnight, and they played their asses off until the wee hours of the morning. It was a Saturday, so the crowd wasn't up in arms. Axl sounded great that night and they played a lengthy set. The only negative was they weren't playing "Civil War" yet at that time. Other than that though, we got them all. Well, no TWAT either. Also, as great as standing room was, my legs were feeling it by the end of the night and the next day. But it was well worth it!
Can't wait to do it again sometime.
Here's "Estranged" from that night.

That Canadian tour in 2010 was epic. I was able to catch 4 shows. Winnipeg Saskatchewan Calgary and Edmonton. Greta great shows to great crowds
I sure hope I get to see another Canadian tour one day

I remember the 2010 show in Serbia, seemed sold out.Belgrade's Partizan home basketball court, about 20k people. If some tickets were unsold,it was only a handfull left.
That was one cold and chilly night, even on September.Whole lotta rosie was imo the highlight.
I can't say i enjoyed the Basel show in 2012,i had to leave during Nov.Rain to catch the last bus to the airport.
I was amazed though by the amount of merchandise in that venue. Not half of what was there made it to Bulgaria.

I saw one show in Helsinki.
one day before the show, a almost 15 year old myself decided to hit the town with my chinese booklet and a marker, just in case if see someone interesting on my way to the market near the harbour.
Well a saw a bunch of gnr fans waiting for gnr people in front of the classiest hotel in town. i desided to join them, much to my surprise and joy, i saw Malcolm Angus and Phil Rudd from AC/DC. Also i saw and briefly met, Ashba and Dizzy.
All in a couple hours. I remember seeing Del James too.
Then the next day it was graduation day for that year in school. I left in the middle of my main teachers farewell speech to catch Bumblefoots meet and greet. That made me feel badass as hell.
I wish i had own a camera back then...
I arrived to the gig just before the second to last opening act finished. And the i got a place right in the middle second row, lucky me. Skunk Anansie was next which played a very good set.
Well all i can say it was awesome. Still my favourite gig ive been to.

I saw the show in Arnhem, Oct 3, on my way from Amsterdam to Berlin. With an ex-girlfriend's brother who whinged the whole time about it not being the real GNR without Slash, but then had a great time when he actually saw the show.
I saw the show in Sydney on December 4, at the V8's with a mate who is a massive Cure fan and was never in to GNR (but loves live music) went and enjoyed the show enormously. I wouldn't say he was a complete convert after this but he'll tell anyone how good they were live that night.
Went to the Brisbane show in March 2013, with my brother. Both masssive fans and had a great night!
Thanks Axl, et al for the shows. Hope to see you guys again (at a show...) soon.

Other than Vegas... I also went to the Izod Center with three buddies... all just casual fans and couldn't name any CD songs if their life depended on it... so it was more just of a night out ... we got so drunk in the parking lot that by the time the first guitar solo hit we went upstairs from the floor so we can lay out lol (it was pretty much empty up there).
I was also fortunate enough to go to Terminal 5 and Roseland Ballroom on the UCAP tour. Went by myself to those. Those were fun too.
Interesting enough the same kids who opened for Axl at terminal 5 also opened for Slash when I saw him there a couple of weeks ago. They must be a go to group for that venue. They were really good, the name slips my mind at the moment.

Unlocking the Truth, I believe they are , I also was at Roseland GNR and Terminal 5 for Slash.
Before the UCAP tour, I had gone to see the Compulsions, after that show, a friend of mine gave Richard a ride back to his hotel and me back to Broklyn, during that car ride he said it was confirmed for the
UCAP tour , this was about 3 weeks before they happened and before it was officially announced, so I had a heads up. I bought tix for all three shows, Roseland Terminal 5 and The Ritz,. Roseland was insane, completely oversold, it was packed!!
Was such a great time, was great to hear UTLH, and Your Crazy, there, plenty of Chinese. I had a great spot on the fl and completely was wrecked after, I have terrible ankles and feet, I could hardly walk after, when the terminal 5 show came up I begrudgingly decided I was not going to do that show cause it would be like death for me to try to even get to the RItz,
I needed to be off my feet. So I sold my tix to friend and forum member, met him at a bar near the venue, had a few beers, and walked to the venue, then home. Good thing cause I was def ready for the RItz, a special show, brought me back to when I saw them back in the day at the famous MTV recorded show.
Before the show, I met up with a bunch of friends, and fellow forum members, Sexkitten included! ANd we pre-partied at the bar across the street, we waited till almost midnight before even entering, as we were waiting outside Axl pulled up in his SUV and jumped out and went into the back stage door.
He took some pics, we went in, and still found a great spot on the floor. IT was fucking electric the atmosphere. Not more than 10 mins that Axl came out of the SUV, he was onstage and killing it. The band was on a whole different level . Another rocking out show that let me wrecked but in such a good way. I practically crawled to the subway after, to go home.
I would next go to see them in Vegas for 2 shows that year, Nov 9th And tenth, my first time at the Joint, And the entire experience was insane, I absolutely love seeing GNR there, the sound in that place is incredible, the whole casino decked out in GNR stuff, and memorabilia. Hanging out at the circle bar, meeting GNR fans from all over, with the common goal of enjoying a great band in a great venue was just a fantastic time.
Next up Brooklyn Bowl 2013, this was a complete surprise for me, I had no idea I was even gonna be able to go, but 2 great friends of mine, offered me a tix, to go with them and of course I jumped at it. Talk about intimate venue , insane, we found a place right up on the stage on the left side.
The stage not being that high , and so small was incredible as the guys worked it from one side to the other, aside from Axls "truckstop revenge", which I found quite funny, he sounded awesome, I always like Your Crazy opening a show.
By the end during PC, at one point DJ was literally sitting on my shoulder while he was doing the outro soloing. It was insane. I have to say that this show was the shortest I remember going to out of close to 30 shows since 87. But it surely didn't lack any excitement or energy.
Finally I got to go back to Vegas, I as already in California, for a month on vacation, my cousin and I drove out to Vegas, to see the show May 21st 2014, there I made plans to meet up with some forum guys I have always chatted with but never to to meet at any show yet, while there waiting for my friends I saw jarmo said hello, he was hella crazy busy haha, so not much time to talk. I met up with the guys I was meeting at the Hard Rock, immediately bonded, had some drinks, and then the mission was to get them tix, as they didn't have any yet.
Even though they both wound up going to every show of that residency.ha ,lol So we hunted turned down some prospects, then one of them saw Ferando. Don't know what was said, but then we went to the backstage door, and hung out there.
While waiting , Tommy and a GF I suppose came up we said hello had a lil chat, they went inside. Then a short while later, a women, with a cloths rack came up with Axl jackets on it and went in. Then a short while after that Del James came out, and saw my friend, the one with the Axl Rose Tat , literally where Axl signed his arm he had tattooed. He waked us in through the backstage door, right up to the floor and said enjoy the show and walked away. All I was thinking was why the hell did I buy a tix,lol But no worries I have that entire ticket still unripped, and you needed one to go from the fl to the bathrooms, and back anyway.
Had a huge blast when the lights went out again, Prostitute was def a highlight for me. I think after all the shows I was at since 06 I got to hear pretty much every song live at one point or show during this run save for maybe 2 and definitely never Rhyad. After the show was an adventure. Hung out at the circle bar, DJ was hanging out there, chilling with his then Gf now wife. The guys from the opening band were hanging out. They really rocked . We wound up going up to a hotel room and partying with those guys and some others. Good time.
After my friend had let my cousin and I spend the morning at his house, to sleep before we woke up some hrs later, to do the drive back to Cali. Was definitely a awesome experience, and now I am jonesing for another show. Every show I ever was at, was always memorable fun, exciting and sometimes a mission.
