Anyone else hear about this?  I might actually pick this up, but this line in the article give me pause:

"It should be noted that the band itself hasn?t confirmed any involvement with this release, which makes its legality somewhat questionable"

Pretty much, but it looks like it was taken directly from the source audio and "officially" released by "someone".

I can't find any more info on the album release, so I can't find the "official" publisher/responsible entity. Edit: Looks like it's "Bandana Records", whoever they are.

It MAY be "legit", in that one of the large radio outlets was the master carrier (like Westwood One) at the time, and they retained the rights to broadcast and release the material. I don't know...was wondering if anyone else had heard anything about it.

Yeah, true.

What would be wild would be if they actually released some soundboard quality version of a show that has never ben available, or only in shitty sound.

To get that, you'd probably have to find a show that was broadcast by a third party, on either TV or radio....where the third party maintained control of the broadcast and publishing rights.  At least to get it "legally".

I'm not sure there's many of those around....

Most soundboard boots are just flat out stolen from the band.

I'd have to think the band has (or had at one time) some soundboard recordings that never made it out to the peeps.

AC/DC released a live album as a counterpart to the mass of bootleg in the early 90's. I think that GN'R should do the same (something like Live Era '01-'07 or Live Era '09-'14)

Probably....but I think it's unlikely they see release via the band, directly.

Maybe, someday...but today is not that day. Tomorrow's not looking good, either. Wink

That AC/DC live album is great.  The sound is awesome on that thing.

Can't say I have the same confidence in a similar GNR offering considering how much they fucked with the live album they did give us.  That sucker should have come with a sticker : ONLY BUY IF YOU HAVE NEVER HEARD A BOOTLEG, EVER

Oh, no way that's happening.

He's going to release some concert from 1992?  Not bloody likely.

This is something that realistically could happen the day Axl decides to retire from Guns (hopefully many, many years from now).

"They" UMG released Appetite for Democracy, this Bootleg thing is supposedly being released by "Bandana Records".

Sounds shady.

Unless there's some sort of loophole they have with it being a radio broadcast (these shows were broadcast in England?), I'd be surprised if it gets released.
