Outside of the big two... the Dodgers are not a playoff team.

So unfair that Mattingly gets all that heat in LA.  I don't care what their payroll is, if you win a division title with Justin fucking Turner as your clean-up hitter (who, by the way, has been smoking hot this series), that's beyond impressive.

Turner has been pretty good this entire year. Not your typical cleanup hitter no doubt, but he's fit the bill this series. It is amazing how poor the pitching is behind the big 2, and they will start 4 of the 5 games this series. They will be gassed if they advance. I don't think they could keep that up all the way to the World Series. Someone else would have to step up behind them. Of course the D'backs basically rode Johnson and Schilling to win, so I guess it can be done.

I'd expect a well pitched game by both guys tonight. It's more imperative for Greinke to work deep into the game. Any early runs would be huge for either team. Put the pressure on. The game is really a tossup. Pulling for the Mets though.

I'm just glad that play didn't decide the game. Unfortunately for the Rangers, they self imploded in the bottom of the inning. I've never seen such poor defense for such a prolonged period in such a critical moment. And Joey Bats made them pay.

I know it was in the heat of the moment, but the Rangers were out of line with how they reacted to the bat flip. What's the guy supposed to do? He hit the biggest HR in franchise history since Joe Carter. It deserved every bit the enthusiasm he put into it. Pitchers are so fragile and hypocritical. It's not alright to celebrate hitting a 450' bomb, but it's ok to pump your fist and point to the sky after getting a big strikeout? Yeah. Ok, that makes a lot of sense.

That was the bat flip to end all bat flips.  It was better than the homerun. 

Agreed on the throwing crap on the field, gotta rein that in, but I love the fan passion.  Playoffs are great.

I wonder if they'd bring back Kershaw on short rest for Game 1 against the Cubs if they advance.  But I don't think they will advance.  Greinke is a beast for sure, but deGrom is no slouch.  He's already outpitched Kershaw this series, so I feel good about him doing the same against Greinke.  We'll see...

I went out with friends to watch Game 1 at a bar.  It's so much more bearable watching games with a crowd, it really diffuses the tension, for me at least.  Watching the other games alone at home, have been pure torture.  Even that Game 3 blowout, I was in full panic mode when the Dodgers scored 3 in the 9th to cut the lead to 13-7.   This shit is going to leave me with a full blown anxiety disorder.

At this point, I hope it's the Kansas City Royals vs. the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series.

Yeah, it was a bad showing for the fans. I don't care if they were throwing bottles or pillows onto the field. Completely idiotic and childish move. And ultimately a lack of comprehension for the rules. As bad as the call seemed, they got it right. And yes, it was a little suspect with the ump ruling the ball dead. But there was no way the Jays were making a play at home there. Odor was heads up from the jump and would've scored with ease even if the ump yelled to Donaldson to throw the ball home. It was a flukey, unfortunate play and luckily it didn't decide the series.

As a Patriots fan, I've seen a few Super Bowls decided by flukey plays. It happens, it sucks when you're on the wrong side. But it doesn't warrant the fans acting like a bunch of idiots. Maybe that's what you get from people who only care about baseball every 20 years or so. In their defense though, this type of behavior has and will occur in other cities across the world. It happens.

It looked like a WWE event. First time in 20 years they have cared about the team... and that's how they show themselves.

Jays won the game with 3 pitchers.   3 pitchers under 25.   A 24, 23 and a 20 year old.   All drafted and raised in our system

Damn, just noticed that Greinke can opt out of his Dodgers contract after this season.  He has 3 years and $77M left.  I'm sure he can do better than that if he were to opt out now, so I imagine he will.  He could really break the bank if he dominates this postseason.  I really didn't need him having any extra motivation tonight.

It's one thing to pimp a HR in a regular season game in the middle of June. The stakes are at an all time high in a decisive playoff game, so you really can't compare the two. Plus, add in the fact that the Blue Jays felt like they'd been jobbed the previous inning and early on in the series. It was a release of a lot of pent up emotion. Totally justified. If you don't want someone pimping HR's in your face, make a better pitch. Don't boot 4 balls in an inning. Don't misplay harmless bloopers. And don't cry about it when things don't go your way. They have no one but themselves to blame.

Thank you!!  Wow, what a game, what a series... I am wiped.  That game had me falling apart before the 1st inning was even over.

What a gutsy performance by deGrom.  He just didn't have it at all, but somehow kept them in it.  As for Murphy, talk about a gamer, he basically won it for them.

Can't believe this team was 52-50 at the trade deadline and is now final 4.  Baseball is nuts. 

I thought they would beat the Dodgers, but only because I thought either Kershaw or Greinke would choke.  Instead, they were on their game but the Mets still somehow scratched out the series.  Unbelievable.

Beating the Cubs will be a tall order, but what the hell, LGM!!

The weak hitting from the Mets this series had more to do with Kershaw and Greinke than anything else.  They scored 13 runs in the 1 game those guys didn't pitch.  Of course, the Cubs have Arrieta, but after him, nothing at that superstar tier.  I suppose Lester could be a problem too, but I like the Met bats against left-handed pitching.  I'm more worried about whether the Mets' pitching can hold up against that monster Cubs lineup.
