Good to hear Tulo will be back.
Unfortunately that's what you get with him, fantastic player when healthy but he's and injury prone guy - hasn't played a full season in years.

Mets extend their lead to 8 1/2. Anyone here think that race isn't over? I think it is game set and match Mets.
Magic number is 11, I'll take nothing for granted until its 0. For now, I'm celebrating their 1st winning season since 2008.

A friend of mine who's a Mets fan was convinced they'd collapse prior to their last series with the Nats. He has changed his tune since then. Let the celebration begin!
Mets and Jays have been the hottest teams in the 2nd half. That's the World Series matchup I'm pulling for.

Yankee Stadium looks deserted like the SkyDome in Toronto used to look when I was doing my undergrad there just a few years ago

Which day?
Yesterday was a pretty good crowd. And they still lead the league in both total, and avg, attendance per game.
The seats behind home plate.....it's a terrible visual. Combine the ridiculous high prices (1k to 2k per game) with the fact you get full access to a free spread and booze with those seats....that you get at by NOT being in those seats....and it always looks terrible on TV.

At least on Saturday, even the upper bleachers look fairly empty compared to the SkyDome these days, though. I haven't seen the SkyDome regularly packed to the rafters since I was a wee boy and Joe Carter and John Olerud were my Jays heroes.

Yeah, I think the single admission double header was a tough sell, combined with the rain, for Saturday (esp Saturday night). Stands looked pretty full early, but they cleared out after the first game. The night portion was a ghost town, but.....the attendance for that game will be "counted" as the same as the first game, because it was single admission.

There was a average attendance for the jays yankee game of 40000. Friday nights game and the second half of sats looked pretty empty however. But all in all it was a good turn out. I lot of dunk jays fans left for that second game on sat. It was great !!
Did anyone else see that Tulo pilar run in and think it looked like something out of a cartoon. It look very funny!!! How Tulo looked at pilar fall. Then proceed to fall in the exact slow motion way. With his feet up in the air like he was a 7 year old hahaha. I never would of thought that would of been able to knock him out for a couple of weeks

Interesting factiod:
For the Yanks/Rays game last night, 37% of all called (just called) strikes were, in fact, balls.
It was pretty equally bad (38% for Yanks batters, 35% for Rays batters) for both sides.
I know some umps have a certain type of strike they will call that's not technically a strike, but the scatter chart shows that these were low, and both inside AND outside to both left and right handed batters. The only thing that looks quasi consistent is the lack of high phantom strikes.
I get the human element, and I'm not suggesting that should be completely removed...but getting it wrong almost 40% of the time in a game seems a little nuts. No?

I hate the whole phony tough guy routine of hitting batters after home runs, excessive celebrating or whatever, but in the case of this pathetic troll, it is completely deserved and warrants a follow-up ass-kicking IMO:

Have fun and check out the Old Spaghetti Factory by the SkyDome if you're lookin' for a good place to grab a bite. The Loose Moose near the 'Dome is a good bar where most Jays fans hang out before games for drinks, if you have time.
