If this is true... then I am really mad at Cashman.
Even if that particular player is part of another deal to bring in, say, price or hamels?
I'm not sure i want cash spending the farm to make a strength, stronger.

To add, mateo was the sticking point in a 3 to 4 top prospect ask by the reds. Meaning they wanted mateo AND 2 to 3 others amogst the names bandied around (judge, bird, refsnyder, sevarino, sanchez, et all).

Tulo will be hitting lead off, for his first time. He looks good in a Canadian flag and blue

To me the only untouchable is Judge .
Price is the only guy I'd move Severino for. I think it's worth it for a World Series run.
I don't know much about Mateo , if he was the top guy in a Kimbrel deal .. I'd have no issue there. Sanchez and Refsnydrr I also wouldn't lose any sleep over, but obviously a closer is only a luxury so you don't want to go crazy.
I'm starting to think the Yankees make a splash , maybe the price on Hamels comes down by the deadline.

Mateo is a highly graded prospect at SS. And seemed to be the only objection in the ask.
I think you can prolly figure out why that might be....

Tulo, so far 1 home run and a allstar field play..
This guy is great
I have never seen him before....
The best thing, he throws like a man... Not like a side arm sally!!!
Watched Reyes this afternoon as well in his debut. He looked pretty good as well. Good luck to him. Glad I got to see him play a few times live. Also very glad I never bought his jersey. hahaha

Big rumor..
Price to the Jays, in a trade and sign.....
For Norris, prospect, prospect....

Rangers are close on Hamels.
Mets reportedly acquire Carlos Gomez from the Brewers for Zack Wheeler and Wilmer Flores, although Flores is still playing for the Mets as we speak, and crying by the way after learning of the trade. So I guess that's not finalized yet.

Gomez to the Mets is dead per Rosenthal, Mets backed out due to Gomez's medicals.

I don't see Toronto shelling out 200 million to keep Price....I imagine he heads out West .
So they really shouldn't trade for him... they aren't catching the Yankees anyway.
Brutal if you went to sleep as a Met fan thinking you got a star centerfielder... wake up.... ooooooops.

There's always the wild card. Even if they don't catch the Yankees, that's not the only way in.

You got it
And it looks like a nice back door door way in
And the jays will have to over pay to get price long term. But that's ok. The guys still young
5 year 165 million I am thinking

I'm going to keep saying this until it's not true:
I'm still not confident that the Yanks have the division locked up. I think the Sox (15 losses out) and probably the Rays (9 losses out) are out of it. I think the O's (6 losses out) and Jays (8 losses out) are still in it..ESPECIALLY the O's.
If, my some miracle, the Yanks make a blockbuster deal at the deadline, maybe my opinion will change. But this rotation is too inconsistent, and this offense putting up numbers that are TOO surprising/above expectations, for me to have confidence.
Talk to me when they're 10 games up on 2nd place.

Sure.. If it was me.. I'm not mortgaging the farm for a rental, when I'm at 500 and chasing the one game playoff.
If they plan on signing him... then by all means, but I doubt that they could pull that off.
