Marmite Militia, taking over one piece of toast at a time!!!

« Reply #580 on: July 27, 2015, 11:51:20 AM »

All valid stuff. I had mentioned Chapman a few days ago too .. Would be scary.

I think Price would be such a boost to their chance in a short series , and you only get so many chances , it's as wide open as it will ever be in the AL.

The Yankees dont even leave the eastern time zone again after this trip ... The schedule is very light , which only adds to my belief the division is over. Plus three of those road games are at Citi, so they don't even leave home for those.

For this 10 game trip.....if they could split with Texas (making them 4-3 over the first 7)...everything else would be gravy in terms of wins.

They're doing well, but I'm not getting my hopes up, nor am I ready to call the division, yet.  But they now own the 2nd best record in the AL (.5 game over the Angels), and the rest of their division is struggling to play .500 ball.

At this point, they are pretty much masters of their own destiny, and time is very quickly moving to being on their side.  Again, after this road trip, they'll have less than 60 to play (another reason why the trip is so huge).  We'll see what the lead is, then.....

Next major trade outlined:

DJ Ashba to Sixx:AM for cash and a player to be named later.

His goodbye letter to the fans is 100% pure class!! Wink

Haha I hope the player to be named later rhymes with bash cash and mash!

His letter is very well written, like I said over there... Why announce a definitive split unless he knows Axl is moving in a totally new maybe old direction?

Sounds like the Mets are close to grabbing Clippard. Solid move, depending on what they give up.

I cant even talk after screaming at 3 ball games.

What a trip!

I love live sports, but there is nothing better than baseball!!!!!!!

Nelson Cruz sure heard it from me in the last game.   I was row three right by the right field poll.

Yelling at him the hole game..

Such creative things like..    Your a bum!   Your a stiff!  You stink!  Nice baseball pose Cruz!  Nice glove Cruz, my daughter has the same, my mom has the same, my granny has the same!  Hit it to right, cruz is asleep...

And I put that on repeat. hahahahahhaha

And the people behind me where even better!!!

Go Jays!!

I've decided who the yanks need to go get.

He's an amazing talent...a little past his prime, but can still hit a ton, and play defense.

In fact, he can play all 9 (10?) positions, he's an unsigned free agent (semi-retired?) and will play for carrots.

So what if he's like 75?

The yanks need to get Bugs Bunny. They would immediately become world series favorites! :p

In the pantheon of bunnies (Easter, Energizer and of course - Playboy) Bugs is the obvious choice as the deadline nears.  Wink

Angels get victorino and cash from red sox for Rutlidge.

Sox coverng about 3.5 million, total, of the remaining 3 years of victorino deal (worth about 13 mill).

The last 2 years of that Victorino contract look horrendous, considering his inability to stay healthy. But he was well worth it in 2013. Key contributor to the WS Championsip, so I'll overlook the last 2 years.

He could help the Angels. He still plays a great defensive RF, and can still play CF if needed. Though I think Mike Trout has that on lock. I wonder how much playing time he'll get there, or if he'll be more of a defensive replacement.

Rutledge was good in Colorado. But that can be said for lots of players. He's been pretty poor elsewhere, so I'm not expecting much from him. This move just clears a spot to see what Rusney Castillo can do the rest of the way. They signed him to a big deal, might as well see if it was worth it.

Now that's a shocker! What happened to bolstering the pitching staff? I guess they're going to try to slug their way to the playoffs, like they have been. It'll probably be good for Reyes to return to the NL and get off the turf.

Blue Jays are also picking up Latroy Hawkins in the deal. Experienced, with a capital E, bullpen piece.

I wouldn't be shocked if the Rockies flipped Reyes.

Reyes to the Cards, Peralta moves to third and Matt Carpenter back across the diamond to first. drool

Just me playing Jr GM but what the fuck, it's the silly season. Wink
