Tanaka really looked good tonight.
VERY encouraging.
Definitely, he was dominant.

Jays have really found themselves against a lot of good pitchers recently. I feel bad for some of the future teams they meet when the bats decide to unload
We have been hearing it for 4 years now... wake me up when Toronto actually does something.....
I really like the Martin and Donaldssn moves but they still have no pitching...
Hope you woke up for this game

I've been biting my tongue to avoid the jinx. It's not even a month into the season yet, but I can't not be very happy about 10 in a row. I am worried though about the injuries accumulating... Wheeler out for the year, Wright, d'Arnaud and 4 others on the DL already.
Big series this weekend...

They certainly look good early on. Should be an exciting year for once for Mets fans. Their pitching is legit. I still think the Nats are the team to beat in the NL East, but I expect the Mets to be in the mix for a wild card. The Padres look pretty good too.

Well it's 11 in a row now. Also another good win for the Yankees and Tanaka.

Well it's 11 in a row now. Also another good win for the Yankees and Tanaka.
The Yanks pitching has been stellar the last 8 to 10 days, which is sorta what they'd hoped for coming into the season.
Their defense (except for DiDi, who continues to make BAD mental mistakes) has pulled their head out of their collective asses, and are now adequate (though not much more...range is STILL an issue). Headley seems to have remembered how to move to his left, which helps. What shocks me more is that DiDi's range appears to be a VERY minor upgrade over Jeters...and Jeter got bagged for his defense for a long, long time....and was a career .300-ish hitter. DiDi's not making up for his glove issues with his bat, AT ALL.
Their offense is still anemic. Aside from Ellsbury, Gardner, A-rod and (so far) Young....none of them can really hit. The Yanks should be kissing Young's ass right now, since he's a big reason they're managing wins. I just hope he can keep hitting somewhere CLOSE to this for the rest of the season. Because Beltran looks DONE.
Tex is hitting .200, with 4 HR's. McCann is hitting around .230. Drew is hitting around .180. DiDi is hitting .200. Headley has had some timely hits, and shown power..but he's hitting .240. The fact that, on this team, that makes him look "productive" is sorta a problem.
They don't look as terrible as they did a week ago. And they handled a line up that I consider to be amongst the, if not the, best in MLB...largely because of their pitching. But...I'm still thinking they are a .500 team at best.
We'll see how this weekend goes vs the Mets.

If Tex McCann and Drew don't improve on that average it will be a long year;

It was obviously over for him in Anaheim, it'll be interesting to see the specifics of the deal.

It sounds like they'd get no players in return, just some salary relief. Talk about a regrettable FA signing.

Yep, sounds like Hamilton is getting an opt out after '16 as well.

I thought the Yanks stole him when they traded for him, maybe he'll finally start paying some dividends.

It looks like it. He has been fantastic so far this year. He's just gotta stay healthy. If he does that he has the stuff to be our #2 easily.

So much for Sabathia looking better. He's getting rocked hard by the Mets. I think it might be time for him to hang em up.
