Ron didn't get a press release when he joined the band, he was the surprise of the night on May 12th, 2006.
I guess the surprise of the next show will be if he's still there. In case he's not, it'll be "who's there instead of him, if anyone".
That, or they are waiting to say anything on the subject until there's a replacement in place.
Or... they don't know what's going on with Ron.

Until management makes the official announcement, we're going to get this:

William: Briefly focusing on your career with Guns N? Roses, there have been rumors that the band will release a new studio album later this year. What can you say about the group?s latest material?
Bumblefoot:
I have no info whatsoever about GN?R. There?s nothing. Anything you?re going to ask me is going to be ?I don?t know.? I?ve gotta? (laughs) I?m sorry.
William: Is it really under so much regulation that you can?t even discuss it?
Bumblefoot:
I know. Literally, I have no info.
And this:

I think we can reasonably infer he's out.

Maybe instead of posting that, you can just repeat the quote from the article you posted.
Then people don't have those expectations, just in case there's no update.

Honestly, I don't think this is a huge decisive factor when it comes to the general public. They will still buy tickets and a new cd. Nothing against Ron, but I don't think there're many people who are fans of GN'R purely because of him.
The management is probably just trying to avoid any negative publicity given the history of band member replacements. Let's face it, the media won't be gentle when reporting this.
It interests us, here on the boards, but this time I can understand them prioritizing the masses ahead of us.

I remember rio06. It was like watching Axl and Ron with a band.
While my intrest in his solostuff is limited he really stood out in gnr for me. Some of the solo's...
Edit:
The smily is means a good thing.

Next to Axl
my favourite is Ron. He gives it all on stage, friendly with fans and kind hearted. I love his new song and clip, I hope I like his other music as I intend to stay a fan of his & attend his shows or guitar workshops if they're close enough or anything else he does in public.
I love his humour too, I wish him all the very best in his career.
For me the band won't be the same without him as he's been in it as long as I've been a fan, I can only imagine how the rest of you who've been fans from the beginning must have felt when your favourite members left. Not a nice feeling at all.

Hopefully this gets straightened out soon....

Bumblefoot:

Bumblefoot:

Why doesn't he say "I don't know, I am no longer in the band"?
He doesn't....he just says "I have no info". It perpetuates the possibility that due to hiatus, there is a disconnect and that maybe he hasn't completely cut ties with GNR.
This whole thing is very weird....

Why doesn't he say "I don't know, I am no longer in the band"?
According to Billboard he has an agreement where he can't say that.
His current status with GNR, meanwhile, is purposely vague and something he's contractually "not [able] to elaborate on."

GNR existed before Ron, and can easily continue without him

GNR has always had really good guitar players, but I agree. I would have to say Ron and Buckethead have been the two most technically proficient players in the history of the band. That is not to say that Richard or DJ could not handle the parts.

I agree with the first, but not the last. Bumblefoot is a magnificent player, great on stage and a likeable person. I wish he'd continue in Gn'R. But Axl is a perfectionist, and always managing to develope the band for the better. Nothing to fear.

The very last question they ask Ron if he thinks there will ever be a GNR reunion with Slash... he doesn't say no.... lol
He also says never say never about himself playing with Axl again... Pretty funny considering Slash's quote.
