Instead of the pointless guitar and drum solos and the band jamming   We could have this new guy just play a few songs of his own

In my opinion these are one of the cool things about going to the show. If I just wanted to hear the studio songs without any jamming I can listen to the albums.

Definitely this, I enjoy the jams and improvisation - you might be hearing something new if you pay attention. Wink

We need someone who inspires Axl. I dont think he's had that musical soul mate in a very long time. Someone who excites him to create new music.

Did you feel the same was about the 12-15 minute section in the middle of the UYI shows?

I think he had it with the original re-launch bunch from 2001/02.

Seems to have lost some of that fire with their gradual departures from the fold.

I would like axl to bring in a guitar player.  That can sing.  That has a already sea mushed career with his own great songs.  Then on your.  Instead of the pointless guitar and drum solos and the band jamming   We could have this new guy just play a few songs of his own

Its a bathroom break either way.  Not sure what it would really change.

And are you saying he should play multiple songs of his own?  Wouldn't that Further dilute the setlist of GNR tunes that are already subject to 2 covers that will never be dropped, and at least 2 others they play each night?

Well in my perfect world guns would drop a bunch of the covers they presently rotate threw on tour.

So we could do 16-18 guns songs.  Mb one new cover. And with the new guitar player 4 of his songs instead of jams and solos and drumming for the sake of drumming

Eh...I could only sign on for a guitarist getting 4 songs if he was a pretty big star already and could justify it based on his own material.

Ron getting one song was too much, frankly.  If the replacement is someone on Ron's level of name and material, no way could I think giving him 4 songs would fly.

I can live with the jams.  It does add to the live factor

Solos are my biggest problem.

I am just trying to think of a guitar player that actually has some great tunes people would want to hear.   Can't think of any.  Haha

Ron has way better songs than the ones he did in his solo spot, he could have chose better.

Yes you are getting what I am trying to say

So nobody wants to hear a Ron song and a guns n roses concert.   I personally think the guy sounds like a goat and a Ron solo song is the true definition of a bathroom break

Ron playing a solo song is taking advantage of hm being a member of a huge band.  And taking advantage of the fans

Where I kinda want guns n roses to take advantage of having a huge star guitar player.   Where the fans would actually like to hear some solo stuff

Just imagine Noel Gallagher was brought in for a tour.  They split up the guitar work equally.   16 guns songs    Mb two new covers.  They Noel slips in 4 Oasis songs     It would be epic

How about bring in some guy that has a top hat and long hair, which covers his face? Ha Wink Smiley Or he  could bring in  Joe Satriani. He can easily beat out Bumblefoot, Buckethead, and Robin.  I would love to see  Satriani  in GNR.

I don't care if the is in the band or not anymore. Compared to Slash, Robin or Buckethead he never created his very own guitar sound in GN'R.

I disagree, all the fretless guitar stuff. For example in the verses of chinese and the guitar solo for shaklers. thats pure bumblefoot.

U mad?  Bass solo is cool. Bass n drums, like The Awakening. And isn't the TWAT solo more than a minute? Don't you like anything of Buckethead neither?

I love that solo.  But its in the framework of a song.

But a straight up 5-6 minute solo?  You better be spellbinding.  Easy to get bored.

In this generation of immediacy people's attention spans have deteriorated seriously . I read an article that said people don't even want to listen to entire Albums anymore.

I don't think we need albums any more.  At one time an album was a means of musical distribution.  It was a product and the supply chain to effectively get the music from point A (the band) to point B (the listener).  It had to have Value (so many songs) to demand the price.  Now with the internet a song can be released on iTunes for $1.29 or whatever it is and skip the album entirely.

So how would you change the business model?  AC/DC, Halestorm, Kid Rock and Foo Fighters are four musical artists that I can think of who have released awesome albums. I wouldn't want to see this go away.

Release songs as singles.  They have to be good to stand on their own.  Then when enough is out you can bundle them "make them an album" and sell them at a discount.

Everything is about Playlists these days and singles.  People don't listen to Albums anymore. (yes I do, but i think that is the minority)  And even the Albums I listen to are usually live recordings like Pulse.

GNR I have my Concert playlist that plays the most common arrangement from their 2012-2014 tours and then ever now and then I go listen to Coma or One in a Million when I am in the mood.  I haven't listened to an entire GNR album start to finish since Chinese came out.

I think very few bands go into studio and knock out entire albums anymore.  They work at songs.  SO release them when ready versus saving for an album.

And I am NOT in a band or in the Industry, so just my uneducated two cents.
