This could go either way since I am not sure if Ron is still on the list of certified party comrades. Ron, may have been, Slashed!

Whole thing is so damn weird.

Ron has been such a wild card, I wonder if he's truly going to cut a promo on these guys once he's free to do so.  Air a lot of dirty laundry.

If that is their concern, aren't they just postponing the inevitable by trying to keep him quiet as long as they can?  In fact, won't this just add to whatever bomb he's going to drop on us?

Thal then issued an official statement on the Guns N? Roses Forum website. ?Let folks know I?m not being forced, and TB [Team Brazil, the management company that manages Guns N' Roses and Rose] doesn?t need to be treated like monsters, and I ask that they not be treated like villains. It?s on me, I?ve been trying to please both sides at the same time that have a different approach to things, and everyone loses a little in the process ? that?s on me, not them. I hate causing TB and the fans grief, there?s just no smooth way to act on two opposing philosophies at the same time, and that?s always been difficult for me.?

On the one hand, this is nice.

But on the other hand, why are they getting hate mail?  Because Ron made it seem like they were the big bad monsters not allowing him to talk.

This statement is in such direct contrast to his screencapped FB comments that it is impossible not to notice.

Why does everything have to be so cryptic and vague? "A different approach", "Two opposing philosophies" Jesus man for once just fucking come out with it.  Or, if you've been asked not to publicly comment on specifics than come out with that too (I guess he sort of did in a PM).  Instead, it's this martyr-esque statement that he'll shoulder all the blame.  Did my mother-in-law help him write this?

What are these opposing philosophies?  It can't be reconciling his side band(s) with GnR, since everyone else seems to be able to manage their other band(s) commitments.  Then what?  Releasing music?  Letting Ron take a more active role? I'm almost to the point where I've stopped caring [cue: pity party].

That would be a very, very  unwise decision if Ron were to do that.

I suspect it may make others hesitant to work with him if he does that.

Are you sure?

Sometimes contrasting statements are actually right in line.  Though I have proven myself a poor judge of such.

Well, he's already got Scott disclaiming any affiliation with AoA...how much worse can it get for him?

Contrasting or contradicting?  hihi

Here he's saying "it's on me", whereas on FB he said he was being put in an "awkward position" and he was "taking the bullet". The first sounded like he was not responsible and was merely taking the hit, now it's on him and he's causing grief.

That's a good point.

But, I believe it can get worse if he does some sort of tell all.  Who wants to work with someone that will discuss whatever was discussed privately amongst co-workers and colleagues, and in the process likely only giving a single side of the story?

How can you trust someone that does that?

Not everyone might share that opinion, but I suspect I'm not the only one who would.  Therefore, I think it's risky for Ron to do a "tell-all".

You would think that management would almost have to comment at this point.  It's is being reported in the media...Don't treat Team Brazil like "monsters" and "villains."

We on the message boards understand what he's saying, but the general public will probably think Huh.

But who besides GNR fans are even following all this?

Guys, let's be honest, is Ron Thal is huge demand?

99% of us had never even heard of the guy before 5/12/2006, and its not because he was a fresh young newcomer.

They're both true, he's not lying.  There's a time difference between them.  He was in an awkward position...something changed...and now it's on him.

Yep.

Which I believe he then quickly made sure to tell someone not to read into it.  Despite the fact the countdown ended on the day of the last GNR show.

Sure thing, Ronbo.

I agree completely. That started the awkwardness. Had he not done that, there might not be this discussion now.

No way.

We would never know anything was up.  The band would be off the road, presumably working on the album (ha-ha) and no one is the wiser.
