He doesn't come off as very proffesional does he? For all intents and purposes he's probably under some sort of contract which forbids him from saying certain things while under contract. Are things so bad that he feels the need to bite the hand thats fed him for the last couple of years?

This is the greatest exposure he's ever going to get. I had heard of BBF through other band members of mine who had seen him play around the tri-state area. He is now known worldwide.

GNR has provided an outlet for him to be able to promote his solo material.

If he's frustrated with the way the band operates then he should air out his concerns to the parties involved not air it out in the public forum.

Not even a little bit.

I have sympathy for him in terms of some of his gripes, which are very legit.  But not the way he's gone about handling them.

It's hard to feel sorry for him when he acts so unprofessional though. As an artist I get the whole frustration over new music being produced. Airing out his gripes over a public forum is no way to go though.

I like Ron. he plays like a boss and fits well the current lineup.

If he leaves/left. It is a bigger loss to GN'R than it is for Ron.

Interesting thing. Bumblefoot is playing a show in London in two weeks guesting the English GN'R tribute band Guns 2 Roses

EDIT: even if Ron private messaged that to somebody.. he's gotta assume it's going straight on these sites

Ah.  Is this why I can't find it anywhere?

I asked about the message being private because I am totally against posting private pms, I was told it was posted on facebook publicly, but Ron went back and hid it.

If he is truly in some sort of an agreement he is supposedly honoring, would this not be considered a violation?

Not a fan of Ron's activity.

I agree, Emily.

"I'd say something but I've been asked not to"...is still you commenting!!

And it makes the band look bad, because the implication is that he is unfairly being silenced.

I love seeing you guys get along. Ron should do this kind of thing more often.

Just announce him gone already.  Why would GNR want to put up with his crap?  Maybe they think announcing he's out without a replacement in mind would hurt them....I'm not sure, but I really don't see how?

Because then you announce there's a problem without a solution to it.

Like: The refrigerator is broken so all your food is now spoiled.
But if you say: The fridge broke, we replaced it and nothing was spoiled. Then you've addressed it and fixed it.

/jarmo

Jarmo, I understand your point...but, I think it's a bit analogous to situation's some of us have encountered in the non-rock world, basically regular business.
Think about it, if you have an employee who is either quitting or has been fired (either way the analogy works)...for a business to replace said employee,
do you think they'd be more successful publicly acknowledging the fact said employee is gone, or by keeping it a secret and telling nobody?
Personally, I'd reckon you'd have a greater pool of applicants if artists actually knew there was an opening, ya know?

I'm not talking about putting out Help Wanted posters or listing it on monster.com, or some reality show bullshit to find another guitarist...
maybe, just maybe, a really talented guitarist catches wind that Ron has vacated GNR, and decides to give Axl a call, "Hey, here's my shit...ya like it?"
Maybe he does, maybe he doesn't.  If he does, give the rest of the band a call and see what they think.
Just my 2 cents.

In this interview in Bangkok on February 16th 2015, Ron sounds like he's still in the band.  Especially at 3:40...

It is all confusing at times,  personally I don't loose sleep one way or the other .When the time is right and whatever transpires when the Guns camp is ready to speak up about the next chapter I'm all for it. IT would be quite funny if at the end of the day he remains and I would look at it as one of the greatest pranks where everyone got themselves in a tizzy over non statements or clarifications , as to his role status etc. And if it turns out he is gone and Guns sets forth with their plans in whatever fashion they have , great. To me knowing now or knowing at some other time if at said time also reflects where things go from there seems will not make any real difference. And sure I get the wishy washy way it appears that Ron's behavior , statements innuendos or whatever are rubbing some fans the wrong way. I guess its the overwhelming need to have to know damit( Tongue) right now that some people have that make it amusing to me to sit and read this thread, highly entertaining, and sometimes very repetitive and very often off tangent .

"Ol? Ol? Ol?, Axl Axl!!!"

« Reply #1413 on: February 19, 2015, 02:55:01 AM »

When he was in gnr I told ya he would be out in a while because a true musician whit his own history,  work ethic, music interests, solo work etc., wanted or not, just could'nt handle that situation in which he could'n write any music with the "band" but writing all alone and then showing to the boss his solo work. It just made no sense. So now I tell you he's obviously out.  Wink

Now I think Axl has 2 options: havin back Duff playing rythm guitar or finallly give up the idea of a third guitarist

If that was to happen, there would be some serious backpedaling.

Not really. He has never said anything bad about Axl. He wears his heart on his sleeve and perhaps shares too much but it takes all different characters to make a whole unit. My guess is whatever was going on was there before Vegas last year and Axl & him had great chemistry on stage. I did note his mood was better the night Duff covered but that does not mean anything.

I think his problems are with the management and that is not something us fans should concern ourselves with. Managers don't make artists!

My guess is Bumble has said I'm committing to my solo stuff 2015 and then management brought up a suggestion of small tour and he's turned round and said no....leading to the situation now.

I'm sure Axl could build the bridge still if he wants.

I think the problem with Ron is, this stuff has gone on for far too long now. I like Ron. I am not a fan of his music or anything but he is the only member who seems to be asking the same questions as the fans. He (and maybe Fortus) is the only member who does not act like a Stepford Wife. Ron has a self-deprecating humour and has a good rapport with the fans. But, he has being voicing these grievances since he basically joined and we are in his ninth year now, all the while picking up the cheques. I basically think it would be better for him musically and personally, if he left, and better for Guns N' Roses.

I meant backpedaling by some on the message board.

And you may be right about your management comment.
