I am not going to copy a link.. because I don't want to offend either party.

But there is a screenshot of a post Ron made on his facebook stating that his silence on the GNR matter is to honor a request that he not say anything publicly, and that it's not his way to stay silent or repeatedly bite the bullet.

Take that for what you will.

Honest question

Somebody linked me to that very screenshot and if he is in an agreement as stated below, (I transcribed part of it) why is he telling random fans on facebook about it? Isn't that in itself making a statement, if only to that fan? How is he taking a bullet? How is he honoring an agreement posting things like this to his facebook?

Bumblefoot-
"PS- I've been honoring a request to not make any public statements about anything related to it, which continues to put me in a very awkward position that I don't want to be in.
Not how I do things, repeatedly taking the bullet on this one, so stop your whining already."

I gotta agree.  How is this not on him?

This is totally his show, all of this.  And has been.

No, if it's Goodbye Ron, or not.

He started it with his Tweets, countdowns, comments and social media profile changes.

Guns N' Roses have not said a single word. Never started any kind of "campaign". Now you're pretty much demanding them to clean up after somebody else.
You can't always get what you want....

You are right   His crys for attention are painfull   I am sure who ever he made this promise to about not bringing things public really likes how he just keeps everything to himself.......   Ya right

Next thing he will start doing is, getting loaded and posting silly messages on fan forum sites.   Haha.  Don't step on my toes ron!!

I don't know...he's obviously frustrated.
I can see both sides of the argument.
If he signed a non-disclosure agreement or agreed not to talk about his status with the band, he's contractually obligated to shut up and move on. (kinda like Robin did I guess?)
That said, being in a band in which nothing moves forward in terms of releasing new material.  That's gotta be frustrating as hell when you are an artist.
I wouldn't be so quick to vilify Ron or GNR management/Axl.
...although when week after week and year after year march on and no new material is put out...it's just painful to be a GNR fan.   Sad

The entire way he has gone about things is distasteful and screams attention whore, from the "I had to play when I was injured" to "I tried to OD on alcohol" to his constant complaining, his unfunny comments, his passive aggressive humor- I'm over it and will no longer support him, I'm very disappointed in Ron.

As for the rest of your post, If you are tired of waiting- don't.
Going on a portion of things that are said here by some of the supposed "fans" the less GNR tells people the better, because some use any information as ammo in their little disenchanted dirt war, and tend to believe their own invented fantasies over the truth.

I'm very enthusiastic and interested in the next album and touring cycle, but I realize good things are worth waiting for.

Every member in GnR have had great opportunities from being in the band. For all we know they've been working on finding someone else to step in, and he won't "officially" leave until they find that player.

2015 seems to be a very productive time for the guys in the band, but a big question mark for new GNR music.

Personally if I was a few of these guys that have there blood and sweat to help write the album. Then slot of what they did got changed.  Or didn't come out sounded as they thought it would of got layered too much and over produced.  Shit, I would be pretty choked   And if anything else regarding the whole process I could see this pissing them off the most

I'm a little late to the party (been distracted by other stuff) but I'm catching up and thought this needed comment:

Did the leaks really sound all the much different than the finished product? I mean...yes...there were some differences, for sure.  But the leaks definitely gave you a pretty good idea of creative direction and production.  And....I'm sure those leaks were, at some point, heard by the band BEFORE they were heard by "us".

So...I'm not sure how you get to a place where you think the material they layed down, and what they expected to hear, was different than what ultimately ended up on the album.  Because, if it did, it happened BEFORE those folks left the band.....

As Buckethead or Robin have not really commented all that much in regards to the album my thoughts are just that and pure speculation

I do remeber tommy coming out with comments in regards to how he wasn't to impressed with how the album came out and it being over produced.   Comments similisr to that.....

Didnt Axl have Ron come in and replace some of buckets solos?

Mb he final version of CD is exactlly how the past members who wrote it wanted it to sound.  Mb the past members are happy that the other two albums of recorded material the spent all that time on, hasn't been released.

I wouldn't be.

You have ron constintly complaining on how he wants to write new music for guns.  How he wants the band to works as a band writting stuff.  He has stated many frustrated comments

And he hasn't even wrote anything

How frustrating must it be for the past memebers who actually did write stuff.  Stuff they are probably very proud of.  Stuff that has been written for many years and hasn't seen the light of day

But like I said they could be happy wth that

I am just throwing out ideas why certain past members may be upset, reasons why they left or reasons they may have issues with coming back

And to keep on topic of this thread

The only reason I am bringing that up as if ron has left the band.  I think guns best chance for success is to bring back one of these past guitar players

Happy with? I don't know.  That's going to be specific to each person, I guess.

But "didn't sound like they thought it would"?  That I just can't see clear to. ESPECIALLY with Robin, since the versions of the tracks that leaked HAD to predate his departure.  They had to have heard the tracks, before they were leaks is what I'm getting at.  If they heard them, they couldn't have been surprised by what ended up on the album...because they sounded pretty similar.

I 100% get members wanting to be more productive, and getting frustrated.  I totally get why Bucket left...and...hell, look at his productivity over the last couple years.  He's practically releasing an album a week.  That guy NEEDS to make, produce, and release music to be happy.  That's the way it works for him.

Other artists work differently.  They craft differently.  And that's OK, too.  If you're going to work with people, you need to work with people who are either content working like you do, or can deal with your process.  And it's OK to find out, down the road, that you don't jive.

BUT...when you do...it's sort of a douche move to bag on the OTHER guys process as you walk out the door.  At least IMHO.

Yeah, I get it. And I don't think bringing back a guy is a bad idea. But, as you point out, the guys who left...they left for a reason.  We're not sure what those reasons are (well, in Buckets case, I think we are pretty sure), but...if they existed then, do they exist now? And if they do...meh...you gotta move on.

I certainly hear the argument that this Ron's doing and not the band's.

But if they are unwilling to say anything, doesn't that suggest they are at least considering bringing him back, even after all this bullshit?

Just announce him gone already.  Why would GNR want to put up with his crap?  Maybe they think announcing he's out without a replacement in mind would hurt them....I'm not sure, but I really don't see how?

So GNR/Axl don't work the way you do Ron.....so what.  That means you have to go around ripping them and mocking them every chance you get?  Tired of this bullshit, along with all your attention craving ways.  Oh that's right, by having Axl even ask you to be in the band in the first place, this has put shit loads of money in your pockets and continues to do so.  Remember that!
