I'm more arguing you might have finished it in 2006 without Ron and Frank.
Whatever time it took, I'm saying cut off that time.
Well Axl is a very talented frontman but he can't just go back in time and release Chinese Democracy in 2001.
The album was released in 2008. It's a great record. Period.
This, end of subject. Time travel the last I heard was empirically impossible yet some seemingly fault GNR for not finding a way around this.
They are so mistreated by GNR, poor them.
AGAIN... people are discussing the affect a new musician might have on the album release. What exactly is the issue with that?
If you dont give a shit about when an album comes out, or who plays on the album or any of the circumstances regarding the release... that's fine... but yet I doubt that.... because ... well you come here every single day... so you must care a little. If you dont, then coming to a site about GNR every day when they put out music so rarely makes little sense to me...
or maybe you just get a kick out of name calling everybody here you don't "like"

Straight from the horse's mouth, Del said it right there ^ "There is no official release date,
as the band is currently mixing
"
Exactly. There's no evidence to back up the notion that the album was delayed because of the additional recording that was done in January 2007.
/jarmo
So you think the record would have come out as is if the record company cooperated to Axl's liking?
Also.. I guess Axl could have chosen to release the originals rather than the ones with Ron and Frank if he liked those versions better.

I think 2006 was the plan. Then it turns out, that wasn't gonna happen. So they announced March 2007.

Yes, that is what people are saying. Correct.
People are asking why Axl can not travel back in time. That is the main idea of the current conversation.

I'm not religious...ha
This convo was informative... I truly did assume Ron and Frank delayed things... but evidence shows that most likely is not true.. I was wrong
but IF AXL COULD REALLY TRAVEL back in time.... then we are on to something....

Agreed. I have a better understanding of the situation now.
Turns out, not every conversation is encouraging the band's destruction. Who knew?

It is just a bit of, 'alternative history'. I do not see anything wrong in speculating on, 'what would have happened if the album was released in a certain year?'

Yeah, where's the great offense here? I never got that argument.
We know how it went. We are discussing ways it might have gone differently. Gotta pass the time somehow.
Now, if you are the sort of person that gets all fired the fuck up about such talk, you start insinuating that we are saying that what we are proposing was the obvious way it should have gone because we know all.
Or, this morning's accusation, that we are asking why Axl can't travel back in time.

If it was, the only sure thing we can safely assume is that it would've been released sooner.
Unless you're assuming the assumed released happened after its actual release....

Like JAEBALL said, this was a good conversation. I feel I understand things a bit better now, and it changes the way I view some stuff.
And it was all done in a rather harmless, non-confrontational way. Without references to whiny, entitled fans and whatnot.
We all in the same gang, yo.

By all means, knock yourself out: 'what would have happened if he released CD, last year?' It is just speculation. What else is there to talk about, DJ's award? Del's new twitter account?

Go lecture someone else, I do give a shit about the band, dont particularly give two shits about hater trash though.
I'm smart and cognizent enough to realize all the speculation and mamby pamby pseudo "discussion" by online armchair quarterbacks won't affect it's release date whatsoever.

That was not an accusation man. Relax, this is a just a forum, not a court.
