There seems to be an effort to run down Ron's new project.
You mean by their current former lead singer?
/jarmo
No, I meant by you. Look at all you've posted since the announcement was made.
You gotta admit it's kinda weird and confusing.
Not to mention the fact that being a super mega group proved not to be as simple as it seemed. Within hours of the band being announced there was drama.

If Ron was still in the band, we wouldn't be getting this attitude.

I dunno. Personally, the fact that I like his Shackler's solo can only help me to ignore his shit-ass attitude about GNR for so long.

Jarmo, whats your angle on this one? Is it that Scott is a douche for distancing himself, or is it that Ron is a tool for using GN'R #s to promote a supergroup with somone that wants nothing to do with them? Or maybe both
It could be a combination of everything. It seems like Scott wasn't too thrilled about the press release and using his name in that way. As I've said, he didn't seem that into being involved with it past his finished contributions. If he was paid to record and make some videos, does it make him a douche for not wanting to participate further? Depends what he signed up for. Was he told about the press release in advance, he objected and they still sent it out? No idea.
No matter whether you like it or not, Bumblefoot is gonna be promoted as "from Guns N' Roses". Promoters are gonna keep doing it, whoever writes press releases will do it. That's how you get attention. Look at Gilby. Same thing is still happening to him more than 20 years after he was in the band.

I would say both, for sure. Ron threatens GNR, telling him this year is for his solo career and any GNR happenings that go on he can't be a part of, only to form some "mega group" with a man who publicly slandered Axl on multiple occasions, and uses his time in GNR to promote said group. Way to go Ron!
Yeah, I agree with the part about using GN'R's sales numbers in the press release. The use of sales numbers before Ron joined GN'R is questionable.

I just watched another video by Robbie Willaims. Live from the uk
You talk about a great singer that can own the crowd. Great front man
Why are not all these super groups looking at him. Mm
Cause he would cost to much
Scott works cheap.

Thing that bugs me.
Ron who toured with gnr for years and is a great player
Says he dosnt want anything tondo with the band anymore unless its anout promting his stupid side projects. Or mb if guns goes back on tour. If he isnt busy. Mb he may join them.
Also
Ron also hopes/wishes Axl rose will let him write music for gnr. I think he wants that. Just to get oaid royalties. Side junk project not paying so well?
Biggest complaint i have. We have all of the above. And still the band dosnt kick him out
Where is tommy?
He is supposed to be the leader of the band. I have a guy that says all of the above

When I was at the last Residancy in Vegas I ran into Fans that realy believe that the Band or some people in the Band owe them something because "they are the real shit fans in the whole world"..... I was shocked back then and I'm shocked now from what came from this all thread.
Sorry, Jarmo if I said something that I shouldn't or hurt someone but I'm getting sick of ATTITUDE from some people and posts here.

If you think Ron is "the greatest man on the planet" you have been deceived, or are willingly ignorant.
All the passive- aggressive, attention whoring by Ron has gotten beyond old. I'm over it, it has gone on far too long.
The conflicting recent press releases were amusing, Scott was very clear on his stance and all the spin in the world won't save that botched maneuver.

Axl Rose is the greatest man on the planet.
I think the truth will come out some day, and Axl will be thought of in the same vein as John Lennon or Bob Dylan.

Ron wants to get together with Axl, write songs but make new GN?R album every two years or so. But Axl doesn?t see it that way. He has other plans or maybe no plans at all. It seems Ron can?t deal with that.

It's not really his band so if that was the case, it seems a bit weird to think like that. He wasn't there since day one so to think the band should do things his way are a bit naive (?)....
While chatting with Billboard at Sundance 2015, Scott Weiland cleared up some of the confusion over a rock supergroup some people think he's in.
According to a press release that went out Wednesday, Weiland fronts Art of Anarchy, a rock supergroup featuring Disturbed bassist John Moyer, Guns N' Roses guitarist Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal and Jon & Vince Votta.
Scott Weiland, however, disagrees with that presumptuous piece of paper.
"
I was never in the band
," Weiland says definitively of Art of Anarchy. "
It was something I did when I wasn't doing anything. I was asked to write some lyrics and sing some melodies on this project, but it's not a band I'm in. This is my band
," he added, nodding to Scott Weiland and the Wildabouts.

I know and I agree it?s naive from his part. But he has said in AMA chat that he wants to write with GN?R and not for GN?R. And if you read his explanation about the Scott saga. He seems to suggest that, making albums rather frequently.

Ron obviously yearned for writing credit with GNR, cant count the number of times he made reference to the band needing to "jam together" or remarking that they hadn't "jammed together".
It is very naive, even pushy to think you can waltz in and do things your way in a venture that doesn't belong to you.
No wonder Richard said "Nobody had worked with Ron".
Drama queen magnifico.

'Jamming' tends to be, what bands
do
. If you do not jam; if you do not write (in some sort of guise); if you do not release albums; if you do not do at least one, or more, of these three things, then that does not leave much else to justify a band's existence without appending 'covers act' or 'revival act' to the name. I think we can forgive Ron Thal, this, presumptuousness. Obviously he was not aware how messed up an operation, new guns are - similarly, Buckethead.

Guns N' Roses hasn't "jammed" on songs since possibly before Appetite For Destruction came out.
There's other ways you can write songs, without the whole band present in the same room. That's how GN'R works, and has worked for quite some time.
Go back and listen to that Richard Q& A if you don't believe me.
