Wait...so will BBF have to play Slash's parts again if they do VR covers?

He just can't win!!  hihi

Btw im assuming they are counting GNR records when stating 150 million records sold..... Which one of those did Ron play on? lol

Yeah, some "mega group", huh?

Please.

They could just be releasing an album and not actually doing a tour? Because doesnt Scott have solo tour dates already lined up?

"2015 will be a big year for Art of Anarchy" suggests an album release and tour to me.

According to John Moyer, this project has been in the works for over a year now.  The full length record is done.

LMAO.

Welp, if it wasn't already painfully obvious that Ron is dunzo with GNR......

I was holding out hope for a VR reunion with Scott.... fucking Ron..... he's always in the way lol

Shall we move this thread to the ex gunner section now? haha

I am interested to hear what Ron can do in a band setting like this.

Yep, I'll be keenly awaiting the first single as well.  Should be interesting.

But yeah, there's no way Axl's cool with this, not after the "fat, wig-wearin' fuck" comments Weiland chucked at him in 2006.  I doubt GNR will say anything official on the matter, but I'd love to know what the 'official' word is.
I don't agree with that considering Scott later said this about Axl in 2008:

"I was in a band (VR) where at the end, it was pretty much three against one. And so I'm pretty sure that it felt that way to Axl as well. I have to say this, and I'm not just saying this now because of my situation I went through, but I heard a lot of great Guns n' Roses stories you guys in the press will never hear. Everyone has made Axl out to be this horrendously crazy person, this bad guy, and I don't know him very well at all. He and I for whatever reason got almost tricked into this little media spat for a moment because one of our band members happened to run into him and said that he said something. So, my point being that having been in a band with Velvet Revolver now for five and a half years, I'm not quite so sure that it was all Axl's fault."

Yep. He said the same thing in an interview with Howard Stern. Said he had a newfound respect for Axl and that Duff, Slash, and Matt may have been lead singer haters.

I really couldn't blame Ron for leaving, especially if no new collaborations are in the works. Playing over other people's ideas seems like it would be less fulfilling than starting a new band and doing what you do best.

It's like being a sophomore quarterback. A lot of waiting around watching other guys get their shot and being fed the line that everybody is contributing to the team's success. In the end, you have to decide whether or not to stick it out or get a starting spot on a lesser team.

I for one really like Ron in this band. He brings real chops to the table and can sing great too. All that and we don't have to convince ourselves that we like KFC-hat-masks or nun-chuck solos...

Yeah. Whoever put together that press release obviously gave Bunblefoot credit for the hundred million or so albums GN'R sold.
STP sold about 40 million. So suddenly the press release is less impressive.

Maybe since you're so positive you can explain who sold hundred million plus albums in that band?

Ugh.   Sad

I was there for Bumblefoot's 1st show with GNR.  May 12, 2006 at the Hammerstein Ballroom.
Today, it seems quite clear his run with GNR is done.
Maybe I'm overreacting...maybe it isn't what it seems...
but whatever it is, I'm finding it hard to believe this in any way will improve the odds of a GNR album release any time soon.

I don't really care about a glitch in the article. It doesn't take any talent away from any of them. You base talent on amount of records sold?

I don't think GN'R is influenced by this in any way. Why would it? If he's on the album, his parts have been done already.

Did I say that?
But if you remove the GN'R sales, then the super group is less.... super. It's less impressive regarding the success of its members.

There are plenty of news sites that are referring to them as a supergroup without citing that number.

Scott Weiland Has A New Supergroup, Featuring Members of Disturbed And Guns N? Roses

From the fragments of some of the world?s biggest rock and metal acts, a new supergroup has been spawned. A band calling themselves Art Of Anarchy have just made their presence known, and its all-star lineup includes former Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver frontman Scott Weiland, Disturbed bassist John Moyer, Guns N? Roses guitarist Ron ?Bumblefoot? Thal and his longtime friends, twin brothers Jon and Vince Votta.

New Supergroup Art of Anarchy Features Scott Weiland + Members of Disturbed and Guns N? Roses

A new supergroup called Art of Anarchy has formed featuring members of some pretty high-profile bands. The outfit boasts a lineup that includes former Stone Temple Pilots / Velvet Revolver vocalist Scott Weiland, guitarist Ron ?Bumblefoot? Thal (Guns N? Roses), bassist John Moyer (Disturbed), guitarist Jon Votta and drummer Vince Votta.

Bumblefoot and Scott Weiland Form New Supergroup, Art of Anarchy

A new supergroup called Art of Anarchy will feature Bumblefoot and Scott Weiland, along with John Moyer of Disturbed and twins Jon and Vince Votta. You can get a taste of the band?s upcoming self-titled debut album in the teaser video above.

Ron ?Bumblefoot? Thal has been with Guns N? Roses since 2006, a stint that includes one GNR album, 2008′s ?Chinese Democracy.? He?s released two solo projects, including ?The Adventures of Bumblefoot,? which was reissued for its 15th-anniversary in 2010.

Weiland memorably fronted the Stone Temple Pilots before co-founding Velvet Revolver with former Guns N? Roses members Slash, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum. Weiland was with the group from 2003-08. They?ve since reunited in 2012, but appear to be moving forward now without Weiland, who also has a solo album slated for 2015.

Just read about what Weiland said about Axl after he launched a lawsuit against Slash - I wonder if he then launched another lawsuit against Weiland for his description of Axl. Seems to be the done thing to keep lawsuits going, I've never heard of so many most of which are a waste of time.

What is the situation between Axl and Weiland now? Have they mended fences or is there a feud between them? I hope they are cool with each other as I'd hate this to backfire on Bumble - I'd like him to be in both bands.

I guess I'm just looking back in time and seeing they had Bucket leave in...'04?  It took 2 years or so from there to find Bumblefoot.  Then, it took 2+ years from there to get an album out.
If Axl wants to replace Bumblefoot...who's to say it won't take another 4+ years until there's another album?
Bucket's parts were done back when he left...and it certainly didn't help move GNR towards the release of CD.

I love GNR and always will...but Jesus Christ they make it hard sometimes!  confused

"I just saw some press about a side project called art of anarchy that I worked on last year ? I wrote and put my vocals down for these guys and had fun doing a couple of videos too, we had a lot of fun. When they find their front man to hit the road and play some dates, check them out. In the meantime, if you want to check out where I?m at RIGHT NOW, check out my band, SCOTT WEILAND AND THE WILDABOUTS. I couldn?t be more excited about our new record, Blaster, that comes out March 31st. You can see us on the road starting in Feb, and at Sundance next week and SXSW in March. Here's some footage of us in the studio performing White Lightning and a new song called Circles.

So an album and videos, but no tour with Scott for now.  If the album takes off that may change.

He has a new album with The Wildabouts coming out in March, he probably wants the focus to be on that band for a while.

Think on the bright side, in 2008 a member of gnr left the band but nobody announced it. In 2008 Bumblefoot released a solo album. In 2008 Chinese Democracy was released.

2015 a gnr member left the band but nobody has announced it, The new Bumblefoot solo album is due next month. There still is eleven months left of 2015 Wink
