GNR Loyalty

« Reply #1380 on: February 18, 2015, 12:36:36 PM »

and another thing... I don't always agree with Jarmo.. and I don't really look to debate with him either.. because it's his site and he is never going to say anything to put a negative light on the band.. even if he did think they were in the wrong

but he's not an asshole... and I have stated that on other sites... that he seems to be a really good loyal guy, and that I appreciate his efforts with this site and I see why Axl values him

so even tho you latch on to his every word and opinion.. the difference in approach is a football field long

Did you ever stop and consider that people can share the same opinions, or is that a novel concept to you?

Been a GNR fan for a very long time, and not once did I feel compelled to whine, argue about the name, criticize every business decision and managerial decision and move, and feel the need to try and impress others with how supposedly knowledgeable I am about all aspects of GNR to elevate my ego.

I enjoy the band and have for many years.

Woe is Jarmo.  Woe is GNR.  Woe is everything.

It's such a cruel world we live in.

No. But I got this so called track record to look back on.
Your usual response. Instead of admitting the fact, you try to ridicule it.

I don't admit to your fact because I don't think its at all accurate.

I think more people would be onboard with a public sacking of Ron than being against it.  Anyone that made jokes about it has been making jokes about the band for years now, I got news for you.  But I assumed we were talking about fans left that are still interested.  Of that number, I see no argument there would be more negative than positive.

Your post came across like you just wanting another thing to rail against, real or percieved.  It fits a pattern of you looking for problems to "correct", again, real or perceived.

That's great. It really is... But has nothing to do with my point that you attack on repeat in a nasty tone everybody who does have a question about the journey of the GNR brand.

So even if a poster offends you to no end with their differing opinion... It makes you look bad to go after them in such a fashion.. if you don't care about that... then so be it.

And I think it makes sense to not announce a problem, without a solution.
Sure, some people like FunkyMonkey would be thrilled to not have to worry about the matter anymore. Others would be like "not surprising, but now what?".

Honestly, do you care? You're here rallying for an update, but do you care? It's not even GN'R to you!

On the other hand, its a decent analogy when you consider that they are dating their material by sitting on it for years at a time.

At least it's not from the 1970s (hello Van Halen!).

I have very little faith that the vocal minority who spend their time whining about a band they claim to like will do a happy dance if the band announced a guitarist had left. I don't see these people as the kind who are happy about getting an update, more about whining and Bungholio2000 trying to impress his pals Cletus and MyParentsGaveMeAComputer.

/jarmo

No, an announcement doesn't make us all "happy".  My thoughts are that an announcement clears GNR from Ron.  He's shitting on them and making a joke of all of it.  Why wouldn't GNR say FU and rid him?  So by not announcing him gone, they believe that is a "better" situation for the GNR name than it is by telling everyone he's gone?  Keeping him around (until they have a replacement or special announcement to go along with his departure) is better than dealing with his nonsense?  I'm trying to make sense of this situation?

Maybe it is?  Not many people in the grand scheme of things, gives two cents about Ron.....so, if GNR makes an announcement that he's gone (without any positive news coinciding), you get major media outlets covering this GNR news and turning it into a negative.  But if you wait till you have an album release date for example, it's positive news and Ron's departure gets pushed under the rug.....because if an album is coming out....who really cares about another guitarist coming or going?

Then we agree to disagree.

Perhaps this could be new thing we try.  Break up the monotony of us always being in lock step.

That is the funniest thing I've seen on here in a long time. Is this really Jarmo? I've never seen that side of you before. The next thing I get to name will be called bungholio2000, I can assure you of that.

Following up my last post, I would say waiting for an announcement of a release date to coincide with Ron's departure wouldn't be a bad move.  But if your only going to announce a replacement for Ron....who really cares?  If that's what your waiting for, I would say just announce Ron gone to get rid of his shit....and then announce a replacement when you get one.

As Emily pointed out a little earlier... (see...credit to her...)

If Ron was asked to keep things quiet...posting to a fan on his facebook obviously goes agaisnt that....

So ... two things

1)If he was asked be TB not to say anything... then obviously GNR has no intentions of making an announcement

and 2) Ron is not very good at keeping a secret  Smiley

We all know the deal ...Moving on... the only real negative is that his departure leads to reunion chatter and lineup chatter that is equivalent to banging ur head against a wall and hopefully this just has no affect on future touring plans.

EDIT: even if Ron private messaged that to somebody.. he's gotta assume it's going straight on these sites

Step aside Ron, Bungholio2000 has my vote. Then they could call the next album cornrows  and bungholes. Buckethead would beg to be let back in the band after hearing about the title, he'd come knockin' on Axl's door around nine in the morning with some fresh dog shit and porno. Axl would think it was Mr. Brownstone but boy would he be pleasantly surprised. Bungholio2000 is a pretty nice guy so he probably wouldn't mind sharing tour dates and studio credits with Bucket. Thanks Bungholio2000, I knew I made the right choice!

Good point. But sometimes you don't take part in that kind of games. Silence can speak more about the person than words.

Just because somebody stoops to a certain level, doesn't mean you have to join in. We all know this, after all, we post on the Internet. Wink

Seems like Bungholio2000 is already more popular than me. Poor me! Wink

Yup.  And reading his quote, dude seems straight up pissed at GNR/TB for not allowing him to make an official statement on his departure.  Although, he's obviously done a piss poor job keeping his word, what with the countdown and borderline trash talking he's done in the past year directed at GNR.

But if he's done, why let them dictate?  Why do they have to hold over him, I wonder?

Good question.  If it's at the point where he feels utterly wounded that he can't make his departure official, then perhaps his silence on the matter is contractual and he's been asked outright to honor it.
