You are both right.

But once those suckers started leaking in early 2006, how in the holy hell is getting the album out ASAP not job fucking one?

All the more so when you see people like them.  Everything else is secondary.

Well Axl made it clear that delivering Chinese Democracy was a total nightmare because there were so many people involved in the project and so much exceptation.

Anyway leaks or no leaks, Axl did deliver the album and it is a great record which has been doing very well ever since !! Now if anyone thinks otherwise, I think they should start their own band and we'll see if they can do better...

Haha, way to put all the e-experts and armchair quarterbacks in their place.

It's just such a tired and long disproven talking point.

If nothing else, come up with some new deflection.  Stop being so lazy.

That's an odd stance.

Do you tell anyone that is critical of an athlete to put on a uniform and get out on the field?

Not unless they are or were an athlete themselves.  ok

Didn't affect the CD tracklist.  All those suckers were leaks.

I know it didn't. Are you saying it's not possible that it might?

That's my point.

Oh snap, we got served!

I?m not sure I agree with you that CD has been doing very well ever since it was released.  It has done very well here, for sure, but in terms of relevance in the rock world, it had very little impact.

I think that argument is weakened by the fact that every song that got leaked wound up on the album.

So if they were truly that concerned with having surprises, and you supposedly have all these other songs recorded, you don't put out all the ones that leaked.

This doesn't even get into the fact that Axl said at one of the 2002 concerts that nothing they had been playing live will ever be on the album.  Yes, despite them playing a song at the time called 'Chinese Democracy'.

I think if you sit on an album so long, leaks are inevitable. Especially when you hear reports of Axl playing demos in nightclubs.

We don't talk about that here.  That sounds more like a Shelbyville idea.

Not unless they are or were an athlete themselves.  ok

But you said anyone that had any questions about CD should form their own band and do better.  Then, they could be considered.

Since we obviously are not going to do that, we will never meet standard.  Ergo, no questions will be entertained?

I am not sure I am following today's battle.....

Leaks.... former members.... the label..... former managers.......

Up until 2007 when by all accounts the label was being particularly difficult with the release....

does anybody who follows this actually think the time it took to release the record was anything but Axl being on Axl time?

The record was ready when Axl was ready... (again.. 'til 2007)

And the same will go for this next record... whatever it's called. I don't grasp how any leak would ever dictate how quick or slow the album came after the leak.

Also going by that logic, Scott Weiland was 100% correct in his 2006 "assessment" of Axl.  Because, you know, he started his own band and all that.  Please.  Roll Eyes

Well you know unlike some artists Axl does not need his albums to sell well, but he does want them to sound good. Chinese Democracy is good, very good so we fans don't really care what impact it has in the "rock world".

It's nonsense.... it's like sports talk radio (which im a big fan of )... because I never played pro sports... My opinion isnt worth a damn ?

You might not like my opinion... but I have been following long enough to have a clue on which player the team should pick up or not....

I was simply making the argument that the leaks, while unfortunate, were positively received.  Axl even said as much in one of those e-mails in a MSL data dump.

And we also know Axl was crushed when he was told he had "maybe 3 songs" when they were played for producers.

Aren't the leaks being positively received something of a lifeline?  A positive sign that he was on the right track?  Doesn't that re-invigorate you?

Well no offense but I think Axl's and Scott's carreers and legacies are not really comparable...

It's an easy out when you don't like someone's opinion about whatever.  No real argument or rebuttal?  Just throw a "How do YOU know what's going on behind the scenes??" or "Easy for you to say, you're not in the band!!".  Just utter drivel.
