I can't say I remember the day it was released.

Didn't get the album until maybe a year later. On tape!

Don't remember the exact day of release, but sweet child went to #1 on Aug 6, 1988.....exactly 1 week before my son was born.  My first copy was also on cassette.

I was too young for "Appetite" when it came out, but my first Guns N Roses tape was a "November Rain" single from 1992 with "Sweet Child O Mine" as a b side.  Needless to say I discovered Appetite very quickly after that.  They became my favorite band in the summer of 92, and still are.

I still remember the awesome dangerous feeling of going into this Sam Goody store as a kid and the dude sold me Appetite with that parental advisory sticker on it. Appetite was one of the first albums to get that shit on it. Felt like I was getting away with something dirty leaving that store.

Good one!  hihi

Appetite and Lies were bought as tapes for myself. Then vinyls for the Illusions and after that it was cds.

This reminds of the days when you could walk into a record store and they had stacks and stacks of vinyls all over the place. And some tapes....
And of course the vinyl singles.... Then it started shifting towards cds... And then the stores just faded away.

I wasn't into GNR right away..They were the big thing in my school but I was into still into the previous fad, the Beastie Boys..Due to them I started listening to Run DMC than other rap acts...On a family trip, I think Oct 1988, my brother was listening to AFD (on cassette) and it finally hit me..I've loved them ever since.....

It was October of 1987 that I fell hard for GNR. We had just got cable TV. I was watching MTV with my father. A montage of video came up which were George Michael, Bon Jovi, and GNR. My dad told me that I should listen to this band. A couple of days later, I did. Got AFD and my love affair of GNR has continued ever since.

AFD Sounds really good on cassette maybe even better than in CD Theres something about that cassette sound that works with GNR.
